For years I suffered badly and had extreme pain. The surgeon told me an operation doesn't always solve the problem. I ended up solving it myself. I wore toe tubing ( available at chemists) on my 2nd, 3rd & 4th toe. It spread the toes and after a while I was so much better. I can now walk for miles again. It's been 4 years now without pain. The only time I feel discomfort is when I play guitar as I lean on my right foot for support so I have to remember to use a footstand. I have sympathy for anyone out there that suffers, try what I did, it's not expensive and worked miraculously.

When your feet are hurting he problem lies in lengthening the heel and legs and opening up the pelvis and lumbar. Barefoot was how I overcame my debilitating foot related issues.

Thank you for your videos on Morton’s Neuromas. It sucks to have it, I do on both feet for years. Thank you all for your helpful info in the comments too. Over the many years I’ve been through four podiatrists. I’m with a very good one now. I’m doing almost everything you listed including the daily brace on both feet then I have the foot ice packs from Amazon. I’m going to add the herbal drops into my soaking as well. Here’s what I keep learning…you can NEVER stop doing your daily physical therapy exercises! NEVER ! As soon as my feet feel better I stop being consistent and the pain comes roaring back like a lion. After watching these videos and reading all the comments, I’m convinced I will never agree to surgery. I’ve been in and out of physical therapy for years and I keep a copy of all the therapy exercises, I’ve bought every tool they use (all on Amazon) so I’m destined to stay on that protocol. Even learned Gai Sha from one of my many P.T. therapists and purchased the jade Gai Sha (Asian technique) (sp?) tools (again from Amazon) to use on myself. Anyway, best of luck everyone and believe you can heal yourself as you lovingly massage your feet daily with CBD cream as I do now.

I wrap memory foam ear plugs with bandage/gauze and stick these between my 3rd and 4th toes on both feet. I’ve had pain for a decade, but now, as long as the ear plugs stay logged, I feel no pain at all. It helps if I wear inexpensive arch supports with wide-box inexpensive sports shoes. If the foam falls out, I then get pain. I do a lot of line dancing and walking now. So thankful I found a solution without surgery.

Ear plugs?? Do you tape them to the bottom of your or in between your toes??? Willing to try anything!

@Multi7513 So many people never respond back. I have to keep the toes separated and use the bandaids that never come off on each toe. I am guessing this poster uses the earplug between the 3rd and 4th toes. I haven't felt the need for more padding, until maybe now. This take it easy part sucks. I haven't felt this in 3 years. I wear barefoot shoes, which I feel saved me.

The toe separators which manicurists use when doing a pedicure work well too (*you might have to trim them up a bit to customize them). Weave one between your toes then pop your sox over the affected foot (which holds the separator foam strip in place) and see if that suits you.

The first video on this subject was very good. The definitive cause of the problem is typically biomechanics. Which leaves me bewildered by this follow up video.... All of the treatment modules except number 5 lacks any sort of engineering solution. Biomechanics is engineering. And the best way to treat engineering is with math and physics. Not epsom salts or massage. Lowering the head of the first metatarsal by raising the medial longitudinal arch will automatically elevate the transverse arch (barring any rigid osseous conditions such as rigid hammertoes) and lift the inflamed nerve (or neuroma) off the floor. For the best results the arch support should be custom fit and calibrated to weight and flexibility and should make use a material such as polyethylene. This material has memory and can flex appropriately depending on durometer.

Simplest relief comes with a metatarsal pad in the shoe. It opens the intermetatarsal space and takes the squeeze off the nerve . I am an old school podiatrist ( retired) this was my first line treatment , worked very well , quick , low cost. Only failed with long term symptoms that patient lived with for months. Then injected with steroid and long acting local anesthesia. Surgery was last option, I ever had surgery fail.

I've had Morton's Neuroma for over 10 years and have tried all sorts of treatments to improve it, but everything seems to provide only temporary pain relief. I recently decided to try barefoot shoes for the first time (I was initially put off by the price and tired of buying shoes that aggravated the neuroma even more). So far, these shoes have helped a lot-it's still early days, but I’ve been able to do my usual walks with less pain than normal. I'm hoping these shoes will help train my feet to move the way they are supposed to, and over time, significantly reduce the issues related to Morton's Neuroma. I'll come back to this comment in a few months or so.

I wish I had known you years ago. I’ve had 3 Morton’s Neuroma surgeries on both my feet. In fact one on my left foot was redone because another neuroma formed further back. Unfortunately I wore very high heels, I did modern dance barefoot for years and also performed stage dance in heels on stage. A British podiatrist finally diagnosed my feet as stepping more like a horse steps.

I have a difficult time finding a good pair of Orthotic shoe. Seems like mfg think one size fit all. When I purchase a shoe usually it has a metatarsal and if the box is not wide enough have a problem. Wish you were in Florida. Every time I see a foot doctor all they do is suggest a metatarsal pad. You mentioned in another video it felt like bunched socks. (you hit it on the head) Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

Thank you. I really appreciate that you acknowledge that this can be very painful. My current, soon 2b former, podiatrist is useless and cold. He never helped me at all, aside from telling me to buy runners, and gave me a list (pointing out that Hoka is the best but expensive). 🙄 I just paid him $85 for a list of runners. I can afford a $200 pair. I haven't worn them yet (mostly due to it's been so hot here). I'll be wearing them tomorrow though and probably all week, while I groom some pretty huge dogs which will require a lot of standing. I recently bought an OTC orthotic that I'll throw in for added arch support, though my Hoka are specific to my pain, so might not need them. Thanks for the vids!

Podiatrist ruined my foot. He made arch supports. He never told me that he put metatarsal pad in and I didn’t notice because he always made them without them and they worked fine so I wore them without knowing it was there until one day I started having a lot of pain. and I didn’t know that I was to buy footwear that would accommodate the new spread of the toes it ended up, squeezing my toes inside of the sneakers I wore. he failed to tell me to buy footwear that would, accommodate the spread from the metatarsal pad. It ended up reactivating an neuroma that wasn’t bothering me for 25 years. I managed it, but he reactivated it when after he made the orthotic, he added these metatarsal pads which he had not made in prior arch supports that work just fine for me by squeezing the foot with these metatarsal pads. He also created a a tailor bunion on the outside of the foot. I never had bunions t out of the shoe look at what was causing the pain and saw the metatarsal pad. I called him and asked him what that was and he said that’s a metatarsal pad. I said why did you put that in and you didn’t tell me? foot was so so inflamed it was a mess. I haven’t been the same since I wanted to sue him, but he retired coward. I left many messages. He should’ve compensated me for the mistake that he admitted he made he apologized twice and yet I am stuck with a very compromised foot all because he never told me that he was adding a metatarsal pad and I never asked for that and he never informed me that I would need new kind of footwear with a bigger toe box this just goes to show how a doctor can ruin a persons health their life in fact because without your feet to walk on properly, your life can be ruined. Meanwhile, he’s enjoying his life his retirement while his mistake caused great great suffering New York City podiatrist. I really wish I could’ve sued him for what he did.

Going through this now, and it hurts badly. Only thing that stops it is standing up. As soon as I sit down and put my foot up it starts and it hurts so badly. Only thing that stops it is standing up. This is nuts and it's between my big toe and second toe on the top.

Mine is exactly the same. I’ve been stood up for 6 days. The standing up and down has caused my legs to swell like balloons. It’s the weight bearing standing up that only eases it. My hips really sore too now and there was nothing wrong with my knees and hips before. It only started the last year. I’ve been suffering with nerve pain from nerve damage for the last 15 years which isn’t a bed of roses. But at least I can stay laying down. This constant standing up and sitting down for just a few minutes is soul destroying. I’m going to try the Epsom salt today. 2 doctors have mentioned it to me now. And also magnesium tablets. I’m at a loss. I hope you can find some remedy.

Mine isnt so much pain but the area swells and wearing anything is like something in the shoe. there is 1 oval pad vs like 2 pads. The indentation between 2nd and 3rd shoe gone and that area is always sweating. Always had issues there with sore spots, fungal issues, even that hard spot that seems like a small pebble is under the shin. Yes, I get wet feet from work but trying footwear with waterproofing but choosing the correct insert is a nightmare. No idea of the best one. Arch support and or Metatarsalgia pad. Shoes are expensive with built in arch support, then which brand...to many and most are over 100 and no guarantee that will fix the problem
