If I knew a watchmaker that I could trust, I would have mine cleaned and adjusted too. Bought mine in about 81 or 82, brand new.

Saving this video. My very old 7002 is stopping randomly now. I bet, cleaning and lubing will be sufficient. I will try to do it on my own with this tutorial. Thanks

Great video, thanks. Not sure if you've tried a 7002 bezel insert swap as yet, but its really easy. 1. Remove the bezel (and gasket), then soak it face down in a shallow container with some citrus based solvent for about 24 hrs. 2. The solvent will dissolve the glue and the insert should just drop out, or gently pry out with a tool. 3. Clean down the bezel and new insert. 4. Refit the bezel to the watch case (without the insert in place) 5. Add contact adhesive to the bezel insert mounting face (with a toothpick) and then place new insert onto the bezel, aligned properly at the 12.

Great job, thanks for showing!. A quick question, where l can get a new rotor for a watch like this? I can't find any place for replacement parts. Even on line.l live in LOS ANGELES CALIFORNIA
@BlairWatchProject3 жыл бұрын
Any 7000 series movement should have the part you need. EBay is a good resource.

I bought this watch from an estate sale in rural South Carolina. It’s in very good condition and appears to never have been modified. Im not really a watch guy though. Is any maintenance required for this movement?
@BlairWatchProject2 жыл бұрын
Service/maintenance is always required with mechanical movements.

I wanted to see the parts where you take the stem out…couldn’t see it, or the part where you attach the dial.

How did the crown and stem just come out like that. I can't get mine out even pushing on the pin.
@BlairWatchProject3 жыл бұрын
On most of the 700X movements, the crown and stem need to be pulled to the set position and then a small tang is revealed between the movement and the case that is very close to the stem. Push downward very lightly on that tang and the stem should pull right out (if it’s been unscrewed from the case, of course).

Forgot to ask,whats the difference between a 7009 and a 7009(A) case ?
@BlairWatchProject3 жыл бұрын
Do you mean a 7009 and a 700A? The 700A variant is the non-US/Japan - Rest of World market, blue dial with a pepsi insert. The 700(0/9) was the first generation 7002 with a black dial and insert.

I need higher magnification to see the spring that keeps the diashock jewel carrier in place. I go off to the side so you don't have to look at the back of my head. :-) Thanks for watching.

I've broken a 7002 movement trying to get the stem back in.

The mechanism is pretty simple, but can get stuck if things are forced.
