What I've found is using shields with the optimae shielding-One time defense-reverse polarity combo works best...nearly speed ran the game took 16 battles to get to the final boss

And there are obviously "tribe" decks that require you to have a bunch of cards with the same word in the name and "iron core" cards that require you to have a certain card in your hand that buffs other cards despite not being played, even though it has an effect of its own, such as the AM core.

We're gonna need some fancy internal cooling system, heads up display, slat or hinged helmet, to inner visor helmets, if we're gonna have protection against em waves without messing up comms, with tin foil hats turning our brains into microwaves, outside the station without atmospheric protection or something? Might need to experiment with a ferromagnetic metal like iron like the earth's core, cobalt, or nickel, or reflective surface like silver, and dry water, or mercury as a new element? I'd imagine it would be more hazardous and challenging to conduct experiments with gamma and x-ray pulse waves. Although ultraviolet or other light spectrums are alot more common and easier.

Ok I just completed normal and hard difficulty with little hassle after second sector. once you got a lot of shields and a good deck you just become unstoppable after the second turn in combat it's a breeze once you got a good deck. And getting a good deck ain't even hard. Just need reroute power and you can deactivate every unhelpful card in your hand when you use that card. A small deck, shield buffing equipment and reroute power and you can make any playstyle work without much hassle once you got a good deck. It's only getting to that point which can be difficult and that basically means until you get reroute power since you won't be actively obtaining unhelpful cards, you'd play to a specific playstyle. Nothing can disable your shields except ion storm tiles so stacking shield capacity makes it easy. Nothing can disable your ship like you can with enemy. There's no threats once you can soak up the hits and regain shields quick enough with enough shield capacity and some form of healing.
