@karilnowak79626 ай бұрын
This is certainly an important point. What confuses me is if the medication is taking away the pleasure response from eating as well as the food noise, why is she still overdoing it? She mimics enjoyment from eating the raviolis but actually grimaces after the first one and seems to burp. Yet she forces herself to continue eating. The prior video showed her eating a high protein whole food diet for a day. The quantities shown were appropriate for the diet she should be on while taking semaglutides, except it did not include any vegetables or fruit. Yet here she is changing things around, going back to processed foods with high carbs, falling victim to there's protein added so it's healthy myth, indulging in her love of the taste of chocolate and sugar which are habits she is supposed to try to break free of while on the weight loss drugs, eating too large servings and probably still having her daily salami snacks. She stubbornly clings to her old habits, cherry picks certain issues to justify what she does, has only a half baked understanding of how these drugs work despite apparently getting information on social media about them. At best she will just harm her weight loss, at worst she will cause her body more harm.

Her life revolves around food and eating. Actually that's how I gained 33lb, had nothing going on in my life. I didn't realise how far gone I was when I started losing weight (without trying) cos I went back to uni. The classes were long, the buildings were far away from each other (long walking), 3 min breaks in between so there was no time to eat but to just get to the next class. If Amber finds something to do, like really something that gets her busy she will actually lose it without trying. I mean this gorl just ate and said I'm excited for the left overs?? What?? A side note about semi-glutides: if you are on them, you need to be off them for at least a week if you're having surgery. If not, you risk aspiration (choking) because of the way that semiglutides work (they slow down your digestion so your stomache isn't empty even if you fast before the procedure). My mom is diabetic and on semiglutides and we found this out literally about half an hour before her surgery, which we had to postpone for a week because nobody checked which type of diabetes medication she was on.

I'm on semaglutide now to help me lose the last 50/60lbs of my weight loss (I lost about 45 before starting!) I think we experience the same symptoms of feeling PHYSICALLY full, but that mental side telling you "you are stressed, eat something" personally didn't go away for me. I'm in therapy because I want this to the last time I lose this weight (gained a lot after having my son). So which muscles exactly is she afraid of losing? Did she ever do any kind of resistance training in her life?
@july38176 ай бұрын
you still have muscles without doing resistance training...
@AyaTheTyga6 ай бұрын
She will lose muscle, i guess in her mind she wants to prevent muscle loss as much as possible. Muscle in general helps with loose skin, aside from overall physical strength. She's naturally bound to lose a lot of it since shes lifting 500 lbs daily. Its not normal and takes a toll, so ensuring adequate protein will help with satiety and fullness but also support long term muscle maintenance (despite that she will definitely lose a lot, over time with weight loss). However .. not eating enough can cause your body to eat at muscles before the fat.
@Jess-Rabbit6 ай бұрын
Hearing someone who has never worked out a day in her life say she doesnt want to lose muscle is so confusing. What exactly is she worried about? Its not as though she worked hard to attain a specific strength of physique. Unless the physique is round... I also find it hard to believe that most people in America dont get enough protein. Those who arent vegan or veg or health concious at all are eating meat like every single meal. Plus all the burgers and hot dogs and whatever other garbage most people eat regularly
@july38176 ай бұрын
you can still lose muscle if you restrict too hard for too long. Not that it's realistic for her to worry about that because she couldn't stick long enough to any program to lose anything, but you can absolutely lose muscle even if you don't work out. And then it's even more scary because you're not using a couple inches of biceps you're losing the more essential muscles.

As a person who has had gastric bypass surgery, I have an appetite that varies from day to day (which is typical). I don’t “force” myself to eat. It disrupts my hunger & fullness cues. My favorite non dairy protein shake is Pirq (for the vegans or lactose intolerant -- like myself)😊😊 Supplements can be a useful tool. If u consistently can’t get your basic nutritional needs, I think a dietician visit is needed (if one can access that).

To your point about being on the meds long term, I have severe Gastroparesis, which is a rare condition that these meds mimic to some degree. My condition severely slows my stomach and causes an array of symptoms but one major one is early satiety. I can only eat about 1/2 cup worth of food at a time because my stomach empties INSANELY slow. I've had it now for 5+ years, and I'm sure people will think it's crazy, but this doesn't result in a quality of life anyone would ever want long term. Ever. Yes, I've lost weight, but my selection of foods is limited, and activities related to food are non-existent. I miss food as I went to culinary school and worked in F&B most of my life but can't eat it and I have yet to be able to maintain a stable weight. There is nothing fun about it. It's impacted my ability to exercise and keep up my previous active lifestyle. So, to assume someone has to stay on this long-term, it feels like we are setting people up to fail. It's going to get old and like many meds people will think they can go without it and stop. Or if they change insurance or the coverage changes then they are F-ed.

I am on Mounjaro over 6 months now. Down 75 pounds. I am 25 pounds away from 100 pounds down. 45 pounds away from getting under 200 pounds, which is more weight loss than I thought I could do. So I can see myself getting to 100 pounds down by September or October, and maybe to 120 pounds down by the end of the year. But even if I don’t, I feel fairly successful already. I started at a little over 300 pounds, and even before I started Mounjaro, I lost almost 20 pounds the first 2 weeks. When you start a weight loss program, you drop a lot of weight in the first couple of weeks. More than you ever see again. ALR at 500 pounds should be losing more weight the first few weeks. Like 40 or 50 pounds at this rate, her weight loss will slow down very soon. Will she sustain weight loss when it slows to 1 or 2 pounds down a week? Or if she slips up and gains some weight back? ALR will need to sustain this program for 3, maybe 4 years before she gets close to a reasonable goal weight. And that is a hard thing to sustain. And that is TBD if someone with Ambers track record can do it.

My uncle was put on Monjaro last year, and he has ALWAYS shoved WAY more food into him than he should. After starting it, he 'claimed' he was feeling full quicker, BUT I would watch him eat just about the same amount of food. He would sit there going, 'I am done' eating dinner, but 2 minutes later, he would grab whatever coffee cake we have in the house and eat it. Something he did before stating it. He is now seeing a new doctor who said, 'I am pulling you off of it because you're not diabetic, and you have been stagnant on your weight.' She also clearly said if he doesn't lose ANY weight, she will know it's because he is overeating. Because he is always saying, 'I don't eat a lot' when we watch how much he eats. My stomach feels sick when I watch him shoving food into his mouth.

Regarding the protein drinks: I've heard that eating a healthy diet changes our taste buds, especially the sweet ones (very scientific I know) so if you've cut back on regular sweet foods entirely, fruit will taste sweeter to you than it did when you were eating lots of junk. I gave my daughter a protein drink one time because I didn't think she was eating enough protein (she was probably 19 at the time) and she said they were gross...we tried a few different flavors and brands. I LOVE the Premier Choc Peanut Butter one that Amberlynn is drinking, it's my favorite and the only one I'm currently buying. I think those that have dieted throughout the years are more inclined to enjoy protein drinks vs those that are new to dieting/healthy eating.

I almost genuinely think that NOW she's convinced herself that she must eat enough protein, so that she must keep eating or it's going to be a bad effect. It's like no one's told her that it's okay not to eat when you're on a diet (and this drug) and it's going to be all right. I went on Saxenda for two months and It is really surprising how much you are not hungry. So I'm guessing she's having this sort of mental war between she thinks she has to be eating because it's her addiction and she thinks she has to eat a lot of protein deapite hunger cues, but she's having to learn that it's not necessary when she's losing that amount of weight.
