Makes it so that the buyer has to fork out more money on actually good tires, after their super expensive purchase… And don’t even get me started on SUVs that have some less extreme off road features, but are still decent enough off-road, but come with HT tires! Those are the types of vehicle that should come with the tame OEM AT tires 😂

Great video on a capable vehicle. I think most of us understand that if there is no traction then there is no traction regardless what you're driving. But I am not a big proponent for using 4 low in low traction off roading, it's too easy to spin the tires. 4 Hi will help lug the engine keeping the wheels from spinning and then giving you the option for "momentum". Keep up the great videos.

@TundraTRDOR Жыл бұрын
I disagree about using 4 hi in deep mud like this. You're not gonna get through that mud pit without wheel spin. Wheel spin and maintaining your speed is what gets you through deep mud. Once you stop like this guy did and dig in, your frame and diffs are sitting on the mud, and you're done. If he had aired down and got on it, he would have made it. You can actually see his front tires started climbing back up, and I thought he was gonna make it, and he stopped.

To everyone saying don’t let vehs in there without mudders, I say this: most people run aggressive ATs because most people aren’t exclusively muddin’, and mud tires suck as all rounders. Yet people with ATs will also come across bog holes and muddy sections. What are people gonna do, change out their tires on the trail? It’s not only beneficial for people to watch vids like these, but fun. So he got stuck, who cares? That’s part of offroading. And those of us watching can hopefully learn something from it.

Mud is a different animal. I sold my CJ back to the dear family I got it from (I'm now focused on restoring my Dad's 1950 Rocket 88), and they are already building it up, but I run KO2s on my personal Taco because I live in the desert and deep mud is less prevalent than just deep sand (actually a wider tire would be good, but we do get snow/ice, so I compromise). My F150 Tremor has the factory Generals on it but hasn't been tested much yet. I might take the old CJ, or the Taco (or "maybe" the Tremor (too long of a wheelbase)) into that pit with some good mud tires, but without a recovery vehicle I probably would decline. We usually run Cooper SSTs or Hankook's on the half ton work trucks here. We don't get a lot of mileage out of them, but they are pretty good in the slop. Peace, Love!!
