Love the classic Escort R.S 2000’s with the slopping front and black outline and those little rubber rear spoilers. Just look aggressive but not overly aggressive. And the colours, bright Orange, yellow and blue, just proper old school colours. Beautiful looking cars.

Looks like a great event to be part of! Amazing that an old Mk3 Cortina can be used so reliably for a trip that would be a challenge for a modern car!

Brilliant video, guys! The drive and event looks really awesome! You are so right about how a classic should be used. I have a daily classic which I use every day and I love how it makes me feel. Yet to get along to a meet but I'm sure plenty will be in the calendar as we get away from the past two years. Cherishing a classic isn't about hiding it away, it's using it for it's intended purpose.

We do it every year but on our bikes. We’re in the Honda Grom club and every year we have a meet up in Holland thousands of us turn up with our Honda Groms which because of their unusual look look of a road legal pit bike or monkey bike they have a cult following. So when we all roar through a quiet Dutch or Belgium town, people take photos of us on their smart phones or film us. Then we have a meet up in a event field, wit food tents, spares and sales tents, some even come to buy and sell their bikes. But irrespective if it’s a car or bikers like us, it’s a great social event to get hundreds of thousands together for a meet. Maybe one day we could do a classic Ford and Honda Grom meet up, as their both quirky.😁

That can't be a taunus. The front end is GXL and it has a Cortina badge on the boot. The Taunus has a different front grill and wings.

In the right car, the journey is at least as significant as the destination when it comes to enjoyment of the trip as a whole.

My dad had the mk3 GXL 2.0. It was his pride and joy. And yes we have that typical 1970s/80s photo of me and my brother and sister sitting on the front bonnet of his Cortina next too the obligatory static caravan in Cornwall whilst on holiday. I think every family has one of those photos😂

@@parmojohal1992 lovely mate. I enjoyed watching this as my dad had a Cortina 2.0 GXL top spec and it was his pride and joy. How come the one that insisted on parking next to you which you called a Taunus, Had a Cortina badge on the boot the same as yours.

Seems like a great road trip and meet with fellow car enthusiasts around Europe. Why are we being unfairly 'demonised' for our passion? The real causes and/or pollutants are being ignored and suppressed by all governments whilst we incur ever increasing taxes and penalties. Rant over and great video.

The car at 10.20 is not a Taunus (pronounced Town us) but a LHD Cortina built in either Ford's Dutch or Belgian plant. The 70-76 Taunus looked quite different to a Cortina and had a two door coupe version.

I'm English, but I can tell a mark 3 Cortina from a Taunus TC; the misidentification and mispronunciation made my teeth itch.

Pretty sure that Cortina is a Free State car. CAA plates means was only registered in Cape Town in last few years. Post the original plate from the green paper you should have.

0:31 Why did the owner of the X plate Cortina put silver-on-black plates on it ? They were made illegal 8 years before that car was made.

I sold my classic car because I was too worried about it, now i have a "modern" car. But I'm still too worried about it. So i understand that's the way I am with cars, always keeping them in good shape, worried about leaving it alone on the street. So im planing on going back to a classic car again, traveling is definitely not the same in a modern car, seems ridiculous that AC and a comfortable and reliable ride is not for me
