I've fixed the A/C on cars that were in for driveabilities just so I could work in comfort, helps me to think. I see a lot of guys get DTC and Scope Tunnel Vision before they even stop and assess the situation, get vehicle history, in depth customer interviews, TSB & Recall Searches, etc, can help take the mystery out of some of this stuff, use the K.I.S.S principle as often as possible.

Hey Jake, thanks for posting this. I know that you guys don't have to do what you do but you do it for your audience and I know that a few of you do this to help your fellow techs like myself, just wanted to let you know that it's very much appreciated! I know the videos are a small part, the format, explanation, and editing is what takes up so much of your time, so thank you and keep up the great work! BTW, I would love to see the Cummins video! 👌🏼👍🏼

Great diagnostic approach, Jake! If there wasn't a DC-DC converter module in between, it would have been a blown fuse :-) And that annoying module even has to be programmed! If you have the time, even a crippled video of the Cummins diesel, can be informative. PS: When the weather is hot and has high moisture content, my Ford C-Max throws water droplets at me, from the AC vent located about the same position as the crazy F-150. The water condensates and pools in the lower part of the pipe-vent connection and, when there is enough of it, the air flow sends droplets into the air. I guess that pool of water may leak down somewhere below but, luckily, not many days have simultaneous high temperature and high humidity, around here.

nice bit of logical thinking my friend . service data is definitely a must . but what i will say never trust your service data 🤣🤣🤣 funny enough was working on a electric waste gate issue this morning scan tool was saying bank 1 and drawing was giving me the wrong wiring bit of testing and head scratching it was bank 2 at fault broken power wire so both were wrong. and that’s factory tool and service info . had an interesting conversation with the service group after “oh yes we new about that we are going to fix it next update “ nice 🤪🤪🤪.no foot note saying it’s wrong
@mikechiodetti44824 ай бұрын
@paulspeller968 I once had that problem with a Snap-on Red Brick scanner years ago. When talking to the Snap-on programming engineer and explaining the problem, his answer was "Ya, We Know" followed by "When the next release of the updated plug in cartridge comes out it'll have the changes." At the time he said that, it was Sept-Oct of that year, around 1992- 1993. The next cartridge came out in April or May the next year! Thanks for nothing Snap-on! ! ! That answer didn't sit right with me and back then I used to get Motor Magazine monthly. So, I sent them the information about the vehicle problem, the Red Brick's readout and what the Snap-on engineer said. Motor Mag posted it in their magazine. I was trying to make sure that if other owners of the Snap-on Red Brick had this problem they wouldn't be diagnosing a problem. It was a Snap-on software problem.

all i've ever seen on dc-dc converters are "buck converters" as like a laptop charger that takes the 12v from the accessory socket and boosts it to 19.2-19.5 volts to charge the laptop. is this the case here ? elevated voltage or is this really just nothing more than a power filter module? i know some component cameras need 24 volts along with some sensors. the outcome you got would be the same i guess my curiosity got the best of me.

To do it aftermarket you will need to setup a witech account and when it’s all said and done the head ache and money it will cost you will be better off letting them do it. If you have all the needed hardware it will cost you $122 in subscriptions to update the radio.

The real issue is an internal fault. The u3000-49 code description even explains that it’s an internal fault. What caused the fault? Think about the year the vehicle was made and the things going on in the world. Chip quality was greatly reduced in 2020 and 2021 so I actually see a lot of module failure from that time period.
