Everyone here sounds lucky with there 5.0. It what we get for having a v8. Mine is 2020 F-150 XLT Supercrew 5.5 ft box with the 5.0.. I have a 6inch lift on 35s and run 87 and get 11-14mpg. But when I take it on the interstate I see 17-20 mpg. Love it and Will never get rid of it.

ATTENTION FORD F150 FANS: Scotty Kilmer says the 5.0L oil consumption problem ('17, '18, '19) is a Ford class defect that Ford won't admit to. All of Ford's work arounds don't address or fix the real problem..... which is that Ford used an aluminum block on these 5.0 engines, and didn't sleeve the cylinders. They used a ceramic coating in these cylinders (to save a few pennies), and this coating is either failing or it isn't working as it's supposed to, thus causing the massive oil consumption problem.

Seriously guys? Your interested in a Truck that has a high displacement V8 Engine and your asking how many MPG this gets? If you guys are concerned with MPG goto a Toyota dealer and get yourself a Prius. This question is like asking a rocket scientist how much MPG does a Saturn V rocket consumes because your trying to save a few pennies. What's the point? Your paying over $50k for a truck who cares how many MPG it gets.

Better be glad you got the V8. For what people use f150's for, hauling and hard work and such, its gonna last a lot longer than those ecoboost 6 cylinders. First, 6 cylinder motors are gonna crash and burn long before a V8 with all that stress on the motor. Second, when the turbo goes out on the ecoboost, and they are starting to become notorious for going out around 80-100k miles, you'll be so thankful that you don't have to shell out enough money to buy 3 brand new V8 motors just for one turbo to fix your old V6

Well if one is concerned about MPG with a truck one of two things they should consider. Get a sedan OR...Simply do not get a v8. I know it's a bragging point for many but at 290 horse power with the 3.3 v6 should be enough for anyone. Thats what I have and it's absolutely fantastic. Though I am someone who only wanted a basic work truck with only one real WANT ....4x4. I'm partial to XL trim, regular cab with 8 foot bed. That's what I grew up with, that's what I drive. It does everything I need it to. Avg mpg 22.6-23

Nice truck! Mine is a 2018 Platinum FX4 in blue jeans. I got mine lifted with new rims and 34” tires (didn’t wanna cut the crash bars to get to 35”). I get comments all the time too! The F-150 just looks bad ass when lifted and given a new set of rims and tires that push them out a bit. Best exterior design of all the half tons, imo (Tundra would be #2, I think). I’m glad Ford doesn’t appear to have dicked with the new design too much. Just subscribed, btw. Love supporting good KZbinrs! 😊👍🏼

MIne burn a quart every 5k miles and i've heard the newest update fixes it. I would bring that up next time you bring it in. I have not brought mine in but i will at some point. The off throttle rattle has been confirmed through fords ids system to be the vct solenoids oscillating to clean them during throttle tip out events. The bed clunk when pulling over curbs is the lack of lubrication on the pads between the leafs for the rear springs. I found over time just the normal gunk that accumulates there will lubricate it enough to get them to stop. I live in louisiana though so we get a lot of rain and therefore a lot of road grime on the underneath of our vehicles.

@@AndrewNobleOfficial Hey man, solid video! You gotta new subscriber! I'm buying a truck soon (I have a car right now) because I find cars just to cramped for me and I need something more capable and durable, with 4x4. I was originally looking at an XLT FX4 5.0, but I've heard about quite a few issues with the 5.0s from 2018 and after... So now Im thinking about the 3.5 EcoBoost. But Im still pretty up in the air with what I want... I'm also going to drive a Silverado 5.3 and a Tundra 5.7. But I have had relatively good luck with Fords in the past having owned a 2011 Taurus and a 2017 F150 with the 3.5 before. (I didn't keep it long because my needs changed temporarily) I really like normally aspirated engines but I don't wanna have any issues... I keep my vehicles at least 6 years or about 135,000 Miles. Mostly city driving. Do you have advice or recommendations? Thanks man!

Hot Wheels Dad it’s a 5.0 v8 was trying to make my mind , but at first he said it had 120k miles in one app and he reposted it in another and mentioned the past owner changed the odometer but it actually had 180k ... for me was kinda sketchy and I’m not getting it , even tho I really love how it looks 🤷🏽‍♂️

I had the bed creek as well... have you tried tightening the bolts in the bed? I did that after my spray in bed liner and it fixed it. Great overview! Maybe we can meet up someday and you can compare my stock truck vs your lift.

Leadfootitis. Haha. When we lived in Chicago, my 2012 only got about 10. Now that we are central NY I am holding about 16.8. Only gets 17 ish when we visit family 5 hours away. I just put the Ford Performance Oil Catch can since I heard they help if you plan on keeping the truck and roush "cold" air. Corsa exhaust coming soon.
