Thanks for the video. I’ve heard about that cavitation problem that engine has had with the water pump housing so I might just change it before it blows a hole and mixes the coolant with oil. Video was short but very informative.

AWESOME VIDEO. I plan to remove the "front end" as well. I'm shocked you don't have deeper cavitation marks behind the water pump, so i guess the oil cooler is the cause of the choco-milk.....ah, OR someone didn't clean the surface properly like you mentioned. (I changed my cooler 2 years ago) I will surely use a torch for the wear ring,except i remember 7 years ago or so my "mechanic" said the new front seal had a "weird ring" that he just left off.... I've done all my own work since!

I'm having a coolant leak on the right side of the cover. I haven't any egr coolers. There is a plastic Y piece that connects to a heater hose running through the fire wall and goes to dump tank, Block off plates from egr's and the thermostat housing. I don't think those are leaking. Is there anything else than can leak other than the rad hose on that side? Does coolant run between the front cover behind the water pump? Thanks for the vid.

That original one had very low cavitation wear compared to most I take apart any chance you still have the old one I would purchase it from you as a spare

Man this is a great video but you skipped the part I needed .. how to instal bee gasket I.e. line it up while installing new cover .

I cut two short pieces of rubber hose that kinda fit through the cover and into the larger holes behind. Positioned the cover in place using the hoses as guides. Put a couple of bolts in place, removed the hoses. Worked well

Hey man thanks for the video. Question. I have an 09 f350 6.4 was driving two days ago and the water pump failed I was able to pull over and shut the truck off before it over heated. However when it failed I had white smoke from the exhaust and now a slight oil leak. Also the truck was shaking at idle just before I shut it off. No warning and no codes thrown. Not looking for you to be able to diagnose via Comment section lol. Just curious if you can think of what might have happened and why white smoke and why slight oil leak?

For anyone that sees this,wanted to state that those 4 Harmonic balance bolts are NOT reusable.They are TTY (torque to yield)one time use only. If the truck has been previously worked on as that one clearly has, ARP bolts could’ve been installed during installation,which CAN be reused.That wasn’t clarified. The balancer is a pretty heavy chunk of metal and could do some serious damage to surrounding parts if it were to come flying off with some rpm’s behind it.Great vid otherwise tho
