What temp should the fan kick on on 2015 and is there any way to test them?
@mikesrubbishandrecycling92595 ай бұрын
I heard a funny noise and the A/C started to act weird about a week ago. Drove to Vegas yesterday towing my 44' FW and the over temp light came on. I notice the fan was spinning with the wind blowing in the grill. I started the truck up and could hold the fan. Truck cooled down and drove the last 60 miles at 60 mph with no temp issues. Did notice that if the oil temp got to 230 the water temp started to rise. Of course it only did it with a load on it. Could not fine a dealer that had a clutch so had to do AutoZone. Got it home without the trailer and going to change it after breakfast. I have a 2015 F250 PS with 195K miles. Watching your videos are great. Appreciate you posting all the info.

After five fan clutches, with only one that worked right, but got damaged in an accident, I just pulled the fan clutch off my Dodge Dakota yesterday. The electric fan comes at 180 degrees and shuts back off about 160 and keeps the engine cool. Of course it's winter, maybe summer will be a different issue. I don't tow heavy loads and rarely climb mountains. I swapped two under warranty and they seem to be just too tight. Years ago on the island of Lanai in Hawaii, I serviced the plantations radios and drive a few GMC vehicles and thought that GMC's were just that loud. In the last two years I realized how much the fan clutch is the problem.

I picked up my new 2022 f250 Powerstroke a few months ago and I think I've had this issue from day 1 but it wasn't as exacerbated until this past weekend when I picked up my new camper and struggled to get it home. I hope driving like this for a couple hundred miles didn't do any permanent damage. Less than 2000 miles on it and dealer confirmed it was this stuck fan and will get a new one installed tomorrow. I'm hoping I will notice how awesome a truck it really is because from the day I got it, I was never impressed and I chalked it up to me owning my first diesel. Also, seeing a bunch of 2022 trucks with this, maybe they had a bad batch of parts?
