Changing my Fan clutch on my 6.7 F550 Ford 2014

the way I changed the fan clutch on my Ford F550 6.7 diesel powerstroke. hotshot carhauler. The Shop wanted to charge me 1200 dollars and keep my truck for 3 days

You can use a air hammer to loosen and tighten the fan clutch nut

Don’t bet all your marbles the air hammer will work because the pulley will still spin with the fan bolt

I welded a air hammer bit to the side of an 1 7/8 open end wrench and that works well.

Ford dealership replaced my belt on my truck but the belt didn’t sit properly on the a/c compressor pulley 1/4 inch on the belt split and ruined the harness on the fan clutch.😢

I’m getting a very similar noise but it is the ac clutch making the noise on this 2013 f550 diesel.

Mine sounded like it was grinding. And was coming directly behind the ford emblem on the grille

Good video but to clear up the confusion of using a hammer I'll just paste what i responded with on another comment. You're not hitting the nut directly with a hammer!!!! You are using a punch/drift and smacking the very edge of the flat spot (to loosen the nut) An air hammer is better but a hammer still has that "shock"! (You know like what makes an impact effective!) They make a fan wrench set specifically made to be used with an air hammer that works good (need a decent air hammer, the one at HF for $15 is not powerful enough, get an IR or if you want to spend more the Cheif from HF is a top dog!) There is plenty of videos that show how to remove a fan clutch..... People have been doing it with a hammer for over 50 years! You do not need to look for one specifically for your truck, they are ALL exactly the same!

Ur damn right they don't show u takin this off there is no room to swing a hammer to knock the fan clutch loose. Crazy. Not everyone has aa. Air hammer
