Ford Focus ST 6 Speed Transmission. Missing 2nd Gear. Easy Cheap Fix.

2015 Ford Focus ST. 2nd gear was completely gone, repaired and put back together under $600. I’d say that’s a cheap fix, even a used transmission is $1,500 and up.

thanks for this video, looks like the transmission's a bit easier to pull than I was expecting, I'm gonna be taking mine apart once I get my 'summer' car running, just driving with some grinding in 3rd gear currently

Yours are some of the best videos. Would make an interesting tv series like wheeler dealers etc. Hurry up with the auto dps6 as I have to strip one myself as tcm reports can’t engage 2nd gear. It will engage is driving slow and any kind of acceleration and it make whining noise sounds like cogs spinning then it engages and a jolts a couple of times then you can accelerate as hard as you like no issue, and no issue changing up gears.

Can confirm, I lost all gears besides 1st, ford just replaced the whole trans.....voided my warranty over a short shifter arm, $5k repair. Fun times.

Not remotely. All gearboxes will look pretty similar to each other, but an automatic transmission is another animal, much more complex in my opinion. And there is no automatic Focus ST transmission, only for standard Focus. This transmission is also different from what you'd find in a manual standard Focus

I’ve been working my forks backwards and forwards in my 2012 Ford Focus auto actuator a and the with trans still in car the with spline tool the screw came all the way out … does that mean it’s toasted ? Or can I still get it to work without taking trans out ? I drive it I’ve just lost top gear I think.. any advice..

Yes that fork needs to be replaced:/ transmission has to come off ☹️

You said you was going to do I step by step on the focus auto transmission soon I don’t want to take it apart miss anything.. like removing axels or lining up to go back fluids etc .. are you doing one soon ??? I’m going to try it 😂😂😂 you can just buy one fork a right off eBay that’s the one with wider fork right? I’m the one asking about the scanner the mini is the same right?? But $200 cheaper does it do the same things as the pad ? I see they program keys also 👍👍😮 great videos.. you take it on . You need no fear macanic tee shirts made up 👍👋🤙🤣

5/16? All bolts on all modern cars are in metric - The drain plug is a 8mm HEX.
