My 2023 Ford Maverick has a transmission leak that was first noticed at around 6,000 miles, that the dealership said is not leaking. This is an updated video to show that it is still in fact "not leaking".....

Ford wont pay the dealer to cover this because according to Ford, this isnt a leak. Getting things approved by Ford Warranty is a royal pita.

Ive hade a few issues that took my dealer 3 months to get it correct! I’ve had the hybrid for 26 months now and I love it! Both issues started around this past December with 24k on odometer.

A great truck doesn't leak atf at 10k miles. Wait until it gets 5 years old and see if you still think its great. When my dad test drove his new truck he was looking at buying I noticed a squeal. I thought it was brakes from sitting on the lot a couple months. Still did it at 700 miles after he bought it and I told it he needs to take to the dealership. The transmission input shaft seal was damaged during installation at the factory. The dealer put in a new input shaft, seal and couple parts. Thus far 8 years later it has been a very good truck. Ford is spiraling closer to the crapper every passing day. Ford no doubt should pay to fix your truck and the dealer needs to make sure Ford pays.

Still a great truck imo. Everything new has issues. Financially a great truck for me so far

Tech probably didn't want to work on it. Transmission is a pain to remove and doesn't pay that well. I work at a ford dealership and I would have repaired that leak. Like you said, flat rate sucks and customer suffers from it

Appreciate the honesty, it's unfortunate. In my opinion if they focused on giving the same level of care that they give customer pay jobs to warranty work (and Ford paid techs just as well for warranty). You would see brand loyalty and sales sky rocket.

My dad had the same issue on his Escape and the dealer never did repair it. When he died I couldn't get that thing sold fast enough. GREAT VIDEO!

Too bad ford will be ford. They seem like they're the perfect truck for most people.

Hello do you have 2 mavericks bc I thought the hybrid was port injected and did not need an oil catch can? Or did you have a 2.0 then switch to a hybrid? Sorry for the troubles, very concerning. Is the transmission different on hybrid than the 2.0 ecoboost?
@unorthodoxridez2 ай бұрын
We do have 2 Mavericks. They have completely different transaxles, the hybrid is an Ecvt and the EcoBoost is an 8 speed AWD Automatic.

Wow,I've ordered one but by the some of the reviews I have been watching I may not take delivery. Like it, just disappointed in Ford. You should have named the dealer!

Honestly it's still my favorite vehicle, out of 26 that I've owned. Purchase price sub 25k and consistently gets 39-40mpg. Hard truth is all new vehicles have issues, I'm just glad I didn't pay $40k+ and still have issues.

They always want to decline they will say anything to get out of it like oh that’s not covered or it’s a preexisting condition or operating as designed makes me gag! To my stomach they are crooks!

are you going to trade it in/sell it? i know carvana offered 22k way low for mine but carmax offered 28k for my 2023 XL hybrid. I'm just not sure what I would get to replace the car with. It's a good truck but I"m just not sure about this thing long term and stuff :(
@unorthodoxridez4 ай бұрын
I'm going to keep it. Honestly compared to other new vehicles the benefits of owning this for the cost outweigh the issues thus far. I'll find a dealer that'll fix it, I had issues with this dealer with the 2022 as well, found out how to fix it just had to call ford and they called the general manager. It's unfortunate but that's the game you have to play these days, documentation is key in a winning argument with service departments.

Can you. Lemon law it? In general all Ford stealerships are horrible now.
@unorthodoxridez2 ай бұрын
It takes quite a bit to lemon law a vehicle. It basically has to be a total dumpster fire, which mine with the occasional dead 12v battery and leaking (not leaking? trans) would not qualify for yet.
@gsxellence2 ай бұрын
@@unorthodoxridez I want you to keep documenting and trying; I know what it's like having to constantly fix a replace something yourself costing you money due to the manufacturer / stealership not trying to fix it. My brother was able to get his '21 Cherokee lemonaded and man it was a process, you just have to find the right stealership advisor who will work with you and your lawyer. I wish I had lemon lawd my kia out, mind you brand new 450 mi trans goes and it happened four more times under warranty with the last one Kia and the dealerships voiding my warranty putting me at fault. When all along they had the transmission rebuilt instead of it being replaced saying it was new I found this out for my transmission shop that rebuilt that transmission again and it went out 3years later; so I put a used one in there and let's just say I still have this same trans today 17 years later. The same thing happened to our '01 Expedition with the stealership, back in 2005 rebuilding and not replacing telling us it was new. I later put in a trans from an SVT/HD F-150 never had any issues 7yrs to date.

some insight from the other side. i work at audi, and the 4 cyl are notorious for the thermostat housing/water pump leaking. we cant do anything about it under warranty unless its an active leak. meaning, if you see a bunch of *dried* coolant from the thermostat area and the coolant level is super low, we cant do anything, unless theres a customer complaint. even then, we can only do the t-stat and have to re-use the water pump and tell the customer to come back in 100 miles when thats leaking too lol. you might be looking at a similar situation here where their hands are tied and theyre limited to what ford will cover. trust me, the tech likely knows theres an issue and knows what needs to be done but sometimes they arent allowed to fix the problem.
@unorthodoxridez4 ай бұрын
Thank you, and I'm well aware. The process is designed to torment the customer unfortunately.

Should have gotten the new ranger? What I read and watch videos thr new mavericks and broncos had more recalls and issues over rangers for this year so far
@unorthodoxridez4 ай бұрын
For the price of a ranger I would have just bought a used f150. Ranger gets too close to f150 gas mileage without the benefits.

Please let us know what the new dealer says. It might be mostly that dealer, and we can’t make a educated decision till we hear a 2d opinion.

This is my plan. Just a bit let down as we've bought 4 cars through them and have sent all of our friends. The salesman rocks, the service dept is lacking and dismissive.
