Ford overheating and a/c not blowing cold air. how to easily replace electric cooling fans.

Are Jay replacing the electric cooling fans in a 1st gen Ford Edge.
Ford edge overheating when parked and Air conditioning only works when driving and blows hot air when idling.

I repaired my 2013 Ford Edge SEL today and purchased my cooling fan assembly from a local NAPA Auto Parts here in the Oklahoma City area. It was listed for $253, but they were running a 20% discount this month. So after the discount and added tax, it only cost $220, a lot cheaper than a Ford OEM part replacement & installation! One note as a suggestion for the installation, take the module off the assembly before installing to allow for better clearance from interference. My cooling fan assembly only had two (2) 8mm bolts at the top and two (2) 8mm bolts on the air cleaner housing. I just used a 1/4 in. drive ratchet with a short extension...easy access!

This just started happening to me. AC is not working while parked and does while moving. Nearly overheated while in bumper to bumper traffic today on a busy highway. Thanks for the explanation of whats happening.

Yessir everything I have needed for the last few months is like double now. Hello, I have a 2009 Ford Edge. The air conditioner fan does not work, but the engine fan works and the air conditioner does not cool when standing. Is there a possibility that this is the problem and not the air conditioner compressor?

I was having the same issues with my edge overheating replaced the whole fan assembly. The fans still aren't working. Any ideas!

Oh that sucks. Did you check the fuses in side the edge as well as the fuses under the hood? If its not those the only other thing i can think of is, either the connector isnt all the way tight, or the harness on the vehicle end is bad. Maybe just maybe your control panel for the ac is bad as well. Do the fans turn on when in park with the ac turned on? Good luck. Sorry i cant be of much more help. Same problem changed fans to Tyc fans still will not turn on, also change fuse but still no signal to turn on. Checked fans to direct 12 volt and turned on

This should fix it, does your ac kind of work while you drive? You could do just the controller but cost wise it makes sense to do both. Remove the heat shield on the exhaust manifold and you won’t have any issues getting it in and out

Excuse me sir I just have to ask now my fan is working but just today all of a sudden my AC is just blowing hot air and an associate of mine believes it to be the ac compressor and wants to jumpstart, it could that be the cause

Hey Darconious. It could be a number of different things. I have 2 other videos on ford edge specifuc air conditioning and then one on vacuuming the Ac system and refilling the a/c. It is usually the ac module, but the cost for the whole fan with module, doesnt justify spending the same for just the module. Especially because a new module on and 3 months later the fans go, now you just bought 2 modules and a fan set up. Good luck. Thanks for watching.
