Done so many of em. Normally the 13mm feed screw siezes! The 13mm nuts snap even after heat, then it's new manifold. The newer feed pipes come out easy as they've changed block . I slacken dpf off just enough to get shield out. At least ya got it done with no additional parts. They fail all time. I blame long service intervals. When it goes completely and chucks oil into dpf. Then it chucks adblue light on you then get p2002 or nox catalyst efficiency as all oil damages cat/dpf. Least ya caught it early enough. Nice job!

Remember when the FORD Transits were made in England, near Southampton ...? Until Gordon Brown acquiesced to the EU bosses. Now they're made in Turkey, and the Turbo pipes made in Portugal .... That's how the Brits got shafted.

I’m not sure what Gordon Brown had to do with Ford’s decision to shut the Transit plant in 2013. I seem to remember Ford taking the piss, asking for £100m to retool their own factory. Labour costs are lower in Eastern Europe and Turkey etc. I’m not saying it’s right, or a good thing, but that’s why manufacturing in the UK is moved overseas by global conglomerates when they get the chance.

Whenever there is industrial background noise in these videos, I always imagine that one of the apprentices is being beaten to death with a crowbar, or having his fingers removed with an angle grinder, or something. I’m sure that’s not the case though, there would be more screaming. Cracking video as always Baz.

Well done. We have had the same problem took it to 2 different people. They said it definitely was not the turbo that it was the pump to the gearbox. It would be okay to use it and four days later not used it much. It made noise then went in to limp mode and pushed grey smoke out the back.

My father has a ford transit from 2021, at only 18.325 km (11.386 miles) the motor wouldn't start start from first ''key', it start from 5! or not at all, we went to the dealership where I bought it, after allmost 3 mounth the verdict was: small block cracked and upside down segments. In first year the van had first oil change at 9.700km (6.000 miles), second year at 13.888(8.629 miles) and third year a new motor from warranty. You think the problem was he drove a short distance and the engine did not warm well?

Hi there, thanks for this video, it’s the only one I can find on the EcoBlue turbo, got a custom and having to change the turbo after it bled oil into the inter cooler and all the boost pipes - didn’t run away though!! Been trying for two days to get the oil feed pipe out of the block - freely moves round but won’t pull out - tried ratchet strap, pry bar - access is rubbish - any tips please???

Not sure what difference priming the turbo cartridge does as youve got all that empty oil feedpipe before it anyway so any first start up is gunna take a second or so to get full oil pressure flow......

Bazzarooney, was the failure of this turbo due to a blocked oil pump gauze before it was cleaned on a wet belt change?

No mate just general turbo failure
@ttatimbo5830Ай бұрын
@@bazmeredithhi Baz - interesting you say just general turbo failure. I did one yesterday, - 69k miles, full regular service history, 2018 registered rear wheel drive. Less than 2 months ago I changed the timing belts as the owner requested it. I dropped the sump, minimal belt material in the pick up which I then cleaned. Used all Ford parts, castrol oil, just like I have done many times…. 2 days ago the turbo just failed. Snapped the shaft as if it had oil starvation. First thing I checked was oil feed to the turbo, which was plenty (with the original pipe). I replaced the turbo using all Ford parts, replaced the turbo oil feed pipe, changed oil and filter even though it was only 1200 miles old. I removed the old oil feed pipe to check the filter in the pipe and it was clear….. My worry is, it’s low mileage, full service history, with clean oil pick up, good oil pressure, yet I don’t see a reason for it to have failed!?! On the old dv6 Citroen engines, you used to be told to remove the filter from the oil feed pipe, which stopped the oil starvation. I look after many eco blues, some do a lot of miles between oil changes, yet this one the turbo fails and it makes no sense? Question is, in your opinion, what could the cause have been? Is it just bad luck? Sorry for the essay, and thanks for reading this. Timbo (also a mechanic 👍🏼)

Genuine question- seen a few videos of people holding the impeller with a screwdriver and turning the engine over to lubricants the turbo. Is this safe/ a practice that you can do or is it best to avoid?

Far be it from me to be a know it all but no matter when the oil & filter was changed you always drop the oil & filter before you fire up with a new turbo. Those turbo bearings are/were absolutely bolloxed which probably means there are metal particles in that oil. In my 30 years as an hgv greebo the song n dance was, new turbo, new oil n filter NO MATTER WHAT‼️ And while you're at it remove the air filter, inspect it and if decent reverse blow it out.
