Just checked. This vehicule is $69995 US "MSRP". The problem in the USA is that this price aka "MSRP" is meaningless. It is not what you pay. You have to add the dealer markup and some options that you don't want. About $30000 for this vehicule. So you endup paying ~$100 000 + taxes. Humm, prefer to wait for the CT.

Agreed. But Elon killed it with the cybertruck before it was ever made. The style is stupid, I know its function over form, and very well designed, but less of a wedge shape up top and have the bed be like a normal bed and then i woulda bought one

Markups only happen when a vehicle is in short supply (as the lightning was when it was first introduced). But now, Ford has increased production so they are easily available. Why pay $10,000 when you can go 10 minutes down the road and buy one for $500 under MSRP? BTW, there are many dealers who do NOT do markups at any time.

I just bought the Lariat ER a week ago and i have gotten a max charging speed of 182kw. In the central US however most CCS charging stations do not support outputting enough current to achieve more than 120kw.

The charging speed is where NACS would help. CCS tops out at 500 Amps. With a 400V architecture like the Lighting has, that maxes out at about 200 kW. I'm not sure what causes the 150 kW limit prevalent in many CCS chargers. It could be a charger limit, vehicle limit, or CCS standard limit. On the other hand Tesla V3 charges kicks out 631 Amps. This allows 250 kW charge speeds. NACS should give a Lighting s 26% increase in top charging speed. Comments below say the Ford Lighting will do 180 kW. Increasing that by 26% gives 226 kW. Any little bit helps.

I just got my 2023 F150 Lightning XLT with the 312A package. Not quite everything you get with the new F150 Flash. I believe I could have gotten the Blue Cruise option. But I don't take long range trips all that much, so I just couldn't justify the added cost. I only have 164 miles on the truck so far, and all my charging is being done at home. So even the update the charging system won't be that big a deal for me. But maybe in the future. ;o)

So we can’t drill for oil because it destroys the environment but yet we can mine lithium and cause more pollution getting the lithium and then what do we do after the batteries are no good anymore? Also don’t plan on towing anything heavy in an electric truck miles per charge go way down when towing something heavy.

i wsa in the ford dealer two times for an accessory order. The guy said "they can't these lightnings". no markups and discounts. The thing is gigantic. that one was $72k. leather, moonroof....and no one wants it. my guess is: this will be no different. Ford should have made this radically different than a regular f150. i think that's where they went wrong.

That is not vehicle specific, same as towing with gas you go from 16 mpg to 8, ect. Depending on what you tow of course. Towing is biggest weakness of any EV, especially with no pull through chargers.

@@Patrick_Ross I did pay $5k for a 1999 Chevy Tahoe 2-door (highly sought, rare) in 2020 and sold it for $25k during the shortages. Yeah I am poor because in 2012 Risto (my Finnish 167 IQ friend who bought the $1m castle in Estonia in 2013 with BTC, which has since burned to the ground and Risto departed along with 500,000 BTC Mircea within past few years) and I each sold $100k of silver (I had 18,000 oz which I sold at $45 as I publicly predicted on marketoracle in 2010 and repurchased at $25 as I had predicted in advance) and bought BTC for $10 each. You can do the math how poor I am. Growing up in the era of muscle cars, I will also think EVs are devoid of personality and the authenticity of the heritage of motoring. Fuck I am a computer programmer and stare at digital screens 16 hours a day at work, so why the fck would I want a digital tablet on my vehicle dash. EVs ruin the entire concept of what motoring is for me. Never will I adopt them. EVs are for you young metrosexuals. Real men drive without power steering!
