Gyeon Quick Detailer | One of my favourites for DEEP WET GLOSS

I must admit that I really used to love actually polishing then waxing my car and taking all day to look after it however as I've gotten older and the arthritis is getting worse I find that a spray on wipe off detailer is giving as much protection for a fraction of the effort and the time .... I've actually now had the car ceramic coated and find a coating of Surfex and a power wash cleans it enough to avoid a contact wash when its to cold or wet.... I've also bought some Synergy Boost to top up the ceramic protrction after a contact wash

I'm a noob to detailing and Gyeon is my "go to" brand. Every review across a number of products in every class, they always do well. So for me, I wanted a "system" of products when I was just starting out washing and cleaning my own car, so Gyeon seemed to have the widest breadth of "good products" and were widely available here in Australia.

Gyeon has been my favourite from the start. Their branding has always been one of if not the best out there. Their products all work very well if not excellent. Plus they do the full range really, if the fancy takes you.

I’m a fan of this QD, especially because it’s cheap and available in big bottles. It’s easy on and easy off and leaves a nice finish unlike BSD which always seems a bit grabby (although it offers better protection). I’m a big fan if the basic Angel Wax QD too.

Gyeon got some great products! LOVE Wet Coat and the Interior Detailer is amazing also!!! I started off with Car Pro and still use Reset shampoo and others like Pearl Iron X etc but moving more to Gyeon products to try them out!

I have both the Quick Detailer and the Ceramic Detailer. Agree the quick detailer provides a tiny bit more gloss. Only disadvantage is the water behaviour, it tends to leave smaller beads that when dried leave a bit more residue. The ceramic Detailer for obvious reason doesn’t have that issue.

Hmmm , are you sure ? I used to use polish angel , but it’s not easy to use in our climate so i replace it with gyeon . If you recommend ceramic detailer then i will give it try 👌🏼

I’m still finding Koch pse works best on my flat black paint. It has a bit of bite and mops up the more stubborn marks and water stains that some retailers don’t. Will have to try the this though at some point.

Since October 2021 I’ve been using Phoenix Titan here in UK, I find no grabbing easiest on/off producing outstanding gloss its now my go to with Tac systems aqua wash a good back up for gloss but a little more grabby in my experience

Gyeon is my favourite brand Jon - for the aesthetics, customer understanding, legendary products like wetcoat and the fact they have a whole system put together (ceramic, dedicated shampoos and maintainance products). Personally I much prefer the ceramic detailer over the quick. It’s glossier, just as easy to use, adds more protection, tidys up panels in the same way and not any more expensive really. Not sure why Gyeon need both/two detailers….

Hard to pick a fave brand but for a quick detail spray I do find myself reaching for Wax Planet Allure. Super slick, glossy and you get some great beads. Also smells like old school banana medicine

@@grantpowley3848 I’ve not used poly gloss at the moment. I’d say allure probably has more protection rather than being a gloss enhancer. Allure is good for 2-3 months protection id say. It’s also not hard to use at all, has a decent buff if you don’t put too much on.

I like lots of brands but my favourites atm seem to be gyeon and infinity wax and bilt hamber and for a detail spray you can't beat sonax BSD. Shampoo wise I always seem to reach for dodo juice BTBM

I've recently moved from Autoglym to Gyeon products and it is my preferred supplier now. I do have a few of the their bottles which leak quite badly from the trigger. Do other people have problems or have I just been unlucky with 3 of the bottles? Use the ceramic detailing spray not tried the standard detail spray yet.

ceramic wont really give it the shine no. A nice machine wax or AIO. gyeon primer I love for shining paint then a layer of ceramic detailer and it will be shining like crazy.

Just bought the wife a 1.2 turbo ultimate in graphic grey. 1st coat hydro2 lite followed by single coat of gyeon quick detailer. Any suggestions got carpro reload 2 and gyeaon ceramic detailer. Want that ultimate wet look gloss finish.....

That wet looks cones more from ultra fine finishing mate so getting machine polisher Da and soft pad and something like scholl S40. And taking time to max out the refinement level in the clear coat. But that Gyeon ceramic detailer is pretty ace m8

Hi John, if you were going to ceramic coat the car, you would use a panel prep, e.g. Eraser to remove all the wax residues before coating. Is the Gyeon detailer as effective as a panel prep for removing wax residue

Gyeon detailer is not an IPA, like Eraser or Prep so would be an bad idea to use it before adding any protection to your car, as it will likely interfere with bonding to your clear coat.

Regarding its „friendliness“ to ceramic coatings: it will unfortunately and to some extent mask a coating‘s hydrophobics, hence why it isn‘t an ideal product for coatings

I get what you mean - it’s hydrophobics are not going to he close to a Gyeon coating so there’s an argument there. I don’t think there was a suggestion it will ‘bury’ it, just mask a very very hydrophobic coating with a less hydrophobic detail spray.

@@DavidC1 do an easy test: apply a Gyeon coating to a car, let it cure, then tape off a rectangle, apply the QD just inside that rectangle, remove the tape, spray water on the whole panel. If the QD doesn‘t mask the coating‘s hydrophobics, then the rectangle shouldn‘t become visible. I did that test and I therefore know what I talk about.

I have only recently started using my BH QD Jon I am still wading my way through loads of products that I have seen you test since I started this about 2.5 years ago, would you say that Gyeon is head and shoulders above BH or is it just the perfectionists that would really notice?

The BH can be diluted and has the charged polymer technology. At 1 to 9 the value is amazing and 1 bottle lasts years. But the qyeon detailer has the wow facter

I think you'd be hard pushed to find something bad at the price point of Gyeon and Carpro levels. I think I'm just going to get out there and try different things too, buy in smaller sizes ( not cost effective) but for me, I wanna try different brands and products so using things up fast isn't a concern as I like detailing and trying it all out.

I don’t think you will ever get a ‘best’ shampoo is …. Etc. It all depends on other factors like the weather, environment, are you in an air conditioned garage, water hardness, how often you wash your car, the time off year eg bug guts vs salt grim to remove, how much you want to spend, which products are in your country. I like car pro and Gyeon, I’ve used BH and Garage Therapy and like some of their products to. As I just coated my car in Gyeon can coat, I’m leaning towards all Gyeon stuff in the future, but part of the fun of detailing is trying new stuff.

good product choice Jon, I've started mixing combos, Beadmaker and Dreamaker being tested after last weekends maintenance wash (60/40 mix). Gyeon QS and CD is next. Need to decide what to mix with Sonax BSD, might use some GT Sigma or Meg's HCD. 😎👍

Favourite brand would be Adam's for me. Basically started down the detailing path with them in 2010. Definitely not the cheapest, and I feel the same way when people say they've turned into the latest Chemical Guys by offering so many products, but the core ones are the best IMO. Adam's Detail Spray is bar none my favourite detailing product to use, similarly to you and Gyeon's Detail Spray.

Watched a lot of your vids over the last 6 months or so. I have just machine polished for the first time and then used gtechniq c1 ceramic and then 2 layers of evo4. Not perfect but it’s only a fiesta ST so doesn’t need to be first attempt and looks better than when I first bought 4 yrs ago. When I next clean, what is best to use to keep the shine. Or do I not need anything just dry?

Nonsense. 99.999999% of smearing issues are due to OPPERATOR ERROR i.e. it’s almost certainly YOU causing the streaking. I know because that’s been me a million times in the past.
