TIP: stake down a tarp on the ground near your side door. After snow pull up two corners and dump all the snow leaving a snow free area for Rocko to use the bathroom and clean your boots.

The soot on the glass of your fireplace is a sign of lower burn temp. It may or may not be a problem. Just make sure you have no chimney leaks. A high burn heat clears that off the glass....but I have no idea what system you have installed. I will say ...it's the first van fireplace I've ever seen...So cheers to that!

I have a Ford E-250 that I had converted to a camper. I live in Vermont and head out to Colorado, Wyoming and Montana every other year. I do NOT have 4WD. I’ve been in some pretty sketchy hail and rain storms and down some roads I never thought I’d get back out of. There’s nothing like hunkering down in my van out in a remote part of the country in terrible weather all nice and cozy.

Reminds me of when I got stuck on the side of the road in a transit. Told everyone to jump up and down in their feet to give me a little more traction while I turned the van around and pointed it towards the road. Was able to back it uphill just enough to gun it and make it back onto the road. If I hadn't been driving with 10 other people in that vehicle, I probay would have been stuck for most of the day
