Very first thing I thought was that you got a new camera! I just (finally) upgraded from my GoPro to a Sony a6400. I’m still learning how to use it but I love it! Nice job on the cleaver, it’s a beast! 👍

That anvil looks a lot more solid and stable than the last time I saw one of your videos! Great looking cleaver!

Great video bud! My wife has been asking me to forge her a cleaver, and I’ll probably style it after this.

I love how small and rustic your shop is, man. I'll look thru your videos for a shop tour, but if you dont have one, it would be cool to take a look at your set up. Just a thought. I'll go see if you have one already nevertheless. I work in a very small space I made in the back of a shared carport, and even though its crazy tiny, i love it! Soon I'll be building a portable, coal fire forge so i can expand from just knives. I'm curious about your hydraulic press (?) that you're using; did you make it?

Video did turn out great! So did the cleaver! Keep it up! Just started working with forklift tines for axes and thought an oil quench would work but didn't turn out very good. Water worked but wasn't expecting to have to do that. What did you do for yours?

@@HeavyForge right on I lived in A town for a little while but quickly got back out to chugiak. Really enjoying Tennessee but its almost too hot to forge in the summertime here. I wish I was into forging when I still was back in AK.

Do you make your own tongs for holding leaf springs, or do you buy them from someone? I’ve been looking around and can’t find anyone selling tongs that fit a leaf spring and have been contemplating making my own 🤔

if you made the bevel 50% of the blade width. It cut in a lot better and get much better and shaper for cutting chopping and slicing.
