Nice work Jessica! I bet if you check out the copper bowl scraps, you could get some VERY interesting abstract shapes, for another batch of pendants, earrings, or bracelet components. One safety note, don't tuck pant legs into your boots in the forge, and be aware of open pockets. I set a pocket to smoldering at the forge once, when hot scale landed in my pocket. Minutes later, I was smelling burning cotton.

Love your Celtic cross on the wall at the end of the video. I have a similar one on my Rosary. Nice project i could get the grand kids into. I have a small cheap cast iron anvil i could turn them lose on and a couple small hammers they could use. The twins are 6 and the other one 5 and they just love to be in the workshop with papa and its hard to find things to keep them occupied with out to much injury. They do however grab safety glasses as soon as they come in the door.

Those are very nice little pendants. I did have a couple thoughts for version 2 or 3 (down the road)... Incising a design (could be kanji, a letter, a simple symbol, etc) in the pendant for a personal gift. Something like that would almost have to be a custom order. Another thought would be tin plating. Not the whole thing; but perhaps more like application with a brush. I have never done any tinning, so I don't have any idea what would be possible, but it could be something you might want to experiment with. It's just a couple of ideas for expanding your creative expression. The pendants as they are are great, but there is always the next horizon.
@ChristCenteredIronworks
@ChristCenteredIronworks 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the thoughts Brian! I actually took a few of these to enameling class to enamel. I do want to add some personalized stamping... that would be a nice touch! I'm not real big into tin work, but I may get a hold of some aluminum and try that in the future. ~Jessica

Word of caution, be careful putting the bottoms of your jeans in your boots. It'll act as a funnel for hot things to fall into your boots. Buddy of mine had a big glob of slag go down into his boot and burnt a hole on top his foot.
