Great job on this build! One tip, make your ferric at least 3:1 water:ferric and then take 2/3 of that and mix with 1/3 muriatic acid and your copper won’t bleed at all. Perhaps we need to get you into the next challenge?
@PJTForging
@PJTForging 2 жыл бұрын
Hey man! Thanks for commenting. I love your videos. Do you notice it makes a large difference? I'll happily add some more water, but I don't have any muriatic acid. I could probably try and get hold of some. How long would you then leave it in for? And I'm always up for a challenge! ;)

I’ve watched many videos with copper and tried them myself….. how in the world do you all keep it off the edge of the blade? I’ve even tried smaller pieces of copper and it always ends up on the cutting edge.

Awesome build. The video kept coming up on my feed but never took the time to look it up. Knife came out great. Especially for your first Cumai build. My first wasnt nearly as nice but it was a test with some lower quality materials to make sure I could make it stick before i spent way too much money making cooler stuff. Now im off to see the butterfly build!

I think it would probably hold up ok... Obviously it probably wouldn't be as strong as a solid steel blade, but I left the blade pretty chunky so I guess that's make up for it. I know I didn't test it much on camera, but after chopping that 2x4, the edge retention was still good enough to shave with, so who knows? 😅 Thanks for the nice comment! :)
