who's gonna use the middle position anyway, just slam it all the way and use the progressive trigger if you need single shots. It would be kinda frustrating though if all of a sudden you were ambushed and needed to get the gun going right away and you accidentally put it on single shot when you thought you had went to full auto, i could see that being a problem in the head of battle. I would have just left out the single shot position entirely if there's already a progressive trigger

I know the Uzi from my time with the German "Bundeswehr". This Steyr Version looks 200% better than the original Uzi. By the way, the stock is by far the worst part of the uzi, beside other "flaws". Anyway the Steyr may use identical mechanics but the gun design and ergonimics (by far the most important part for the shooting), are way better on this Austrian Uzi. At least in my opinion.
@darthhodges2 жыл бұрын
The other thing the safety notches on the bolt prevent are runaways. Many firearms are (inadvertently) designed such that if the wrong part breaks or (in blowback sub guns like this) if you have the right weak ammo it will go full auto when you don't intend it to and may keep going even if you let off the trigger. That second notch seems placed just right to make runaways impossible.

Such a little thing to improve the MPi69 so much. Now, I realize it's a tiny thing, but you'd think manufacturers would design collapsing stock guns so at least the "collapsed" notch has a bevel on the forward edge so a user could grab a gun collapsed for storage and rip the stock open to a usable length without needing to stop and switch *both* hands to push the "unlock" latch with one hand while you pull the stock with the other. (Yes, the M4 also requires you to push a button while expanding the stock... but the button is *on the stock* under your fingers, so you can keep the firing hand on the grip.)

The issue with "bolt bounce" is not so much that when it falls on the back it can shoot unintentionally. The problem is more likey when you want to charge the gun, you pull back but right before you reach the seer, you slip and let go stripping a round and shoot. There is a video of Ian playing with a submachinegun where exactly this happens (without a round obviously). Ian pulls back, it slips and bolt slams forward. If there is a round it the mag, it might shoot. you charge a gun way more often then your gun falls really heavily on its backside.
