Russia is by far my new favorite nation in the game. Want almost unlimited manpower- You don't even have to pick quality ideas man? Or maybe some good unique units - Remember to take offensive ideas, ok? Also I would recommend to stack as many movement speed bonuses as possible while playing as Russia. Amazing modifiers, missions, flavor and very flexabile nation overall. And if you manage to snap Crimea and maybe even Byzantium in the first 10-20years and get yourself a nice alliance with Hungary/Austria/Mams you can wreck and cripple Ottomans fairly early in the game.

Nah I prefer go to war against mamluks and ottomans at the same time. Make sure to form hanseatic league and complete the missions before forming russia. It is easy to form and you cans easily get a bunch of permanent modifiers.

In my current muscovy campaign, i eneed up with ~7 morale before 1500, while the next best tag has below 6 morale. I was able to simultaneously fight, mamluks, kazan, ottomans, teutonic order, and AQ

@@anton_melnikov it was in the VU mod. My allies were Poland, france and burgundy (with the latter 2 not being present in any of the wars), the teuton war was because I was helping Poland. The mamluk one was to recover cores of Syria. The ottomans one was because they wouldn't give me mil access to get to AQ and mamluks. The kazan one was because it annoyed me by lent 13k condottieri to vyatka for free (ally of novgorod) while I was in the middle of a war against novgorod.

@@notme8232 it's a WAY SLOWER than muscovy run. did you know, that coring provinces reduction could be about 90%? this mean, that you core 30 dev province for 30 admin and ~6 months. i have half of eurasia and 9 colonies by 1586.(/ludi mode on) THIS IS INSANE!!! (/ludi mode off)

@@notme8232 Yeah, muscovy is definitely faster than Novgorod. It is pretty impossible to fight Muscovy alone. I ask Poland to protect Novgorod. The Frozen asset achievement is very tough because both Sevilla and English trade node is very dominating.

@@hoyinching9313 Poland took a local noble, Lithuania rivaled me, and I didn't want to restart, so I deathwarred with mercs instead. That obviously required some recovery time, enough for the Ottomans to vassalize Crimea, full annex the Great Horde, and dec on Kazan at the same time as me before I could even finish Muscovy. I swear, the Ottomans are a player-seeking missile, always ignoring more logical expansion routes to beeline towards the player in a straight line.

When you have many generals, it will be cool in EU5 to be able to leave the AI actually manage a war you declare. I mean you just allocate an amount of units and just leave the rest to the AI.

streltsy are nice until you modernize Russian (new gov reform) and then they are useless because you can stack great bonuses on your regular infantry (25% inf combat ability) and have to sacrifice your ability to make streltsy to do it.
