Thank you very much forrest, this video was what I really needed to hear at this moment! The more and more I meditate, the more I understand what you were trying to say in your early videos. It's honestly amazing to see the practice working, the simplicity of the 4 proofs has resolved so many questions I had about meditation and the esoteric nature of the many different lineages of practitioners throughout the world. Its like you have summmed up the old ways for the new era. It honestly makes me laugh, because I spent so much time over the last two years of reading doctrine from many different lineages such as zen Buddhism, Hinduism, Gonsticism, etc.. I was looking for what they were trying to say, but was having difficulty understanding the esoteric language that likely arises from thousands years old practices. However, within just two weeks of finding your youtube channel, I have had more progession than those entire two years, its honestly astonishing. Thank you so much forest!

Hey Forrest, I have started to measure my HRV wearing an Apple Watch and I am super impressed with how significantly my HRV increases when I spend 15 to 20 minutes of HRV breathing and meditation. This is significant when I compare with the increases I get on HRV from a significant amount of rest and sleep. In other words, HRV breathing and meditation work as effectively -if not more effectively, as a good amount of restorative sleep. For someone who is into running and the importance of HRV as a measure of body recovery, this is very valuable.

Thank you for this great masterplan! I m wondering how to best keep track of time during the do-be-do-be intervals. Restarting the app, using a timer or a mala all require some movement and disturb the svs... on the other hand when I keep track of time only mentally, my om-ing in the chakras is not so intensive, ... and during the „be“ part best I can do is kind of feeling the time, for counting breaths would be doing and not being.... nevertheless it is a wonderful way and I really enjoy this method. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
@ForrestKnutson
@ForrestKnutson Жыл бұрын
Maybe start with the app, and then the 2nd time, try to do the long breathing without the app. See if you can go back and forth independently. If you're on a time crunch, this might not be the best progression. Save it for a time when you're a bit more free of any time pressure.

Hello Forest, I’ve been running into this issue where I just keep salivating when I do the hrv, I do it and then my mouth just for some reason starts over producing saliva to the point where it’s almost just sliding down the back of my mouth and building up in my mouth, and whenever I swallow it, it throws me off the svs and just kicks me out of that moment of stillness. How can I overcome this? I can’t find anything about it anywhere and am hoping you can provide sum advice, ur vids have drastically improved my level of understand what meditation is on an anatomical and physiological level, which is fascinating to an xray technologist such as myself, thank you.
@ForrestKnutson
@ForrestKnutson Жыл бұрын
As Resonance kicks in, some people will find increased salivation as the body starts turning on processes that it was putting off until we had more Reserves. This is very normal and you just have to allow the body to go through it and it will slow down in a little bit. You can ask your subconscious please go ahead and slow down the amount of saliva. Go ahead and swallow this is a minor movement and will not break the freeze so much so try not to worry about it let it be a minor thing go ahead and swallow and notice that your upper chest can remain Frozen.😉🙏

What i dont like about Kriya as I understood it, is that energy is not whole body but focuses on going up the spine. Taoist think of the whole body as the launcher of the spiritual rocket. Also to my understanding I dont see energetic alchemy. The stilling and refining of the energy. For example Healing Tao uses the fusion practice to make the energy nice and refined. Sounds loving the meditation is the way to go.
@ForrestKnutson
@ForrestKnutson Жыл бұрын
Well it is all whole body, because there's no part of your body which is not affected by your nervous system. Tad James used to comment how if we could put you in a vat which would take away everything else besides your neurotransmitters, there would still be enough neurotransmitters for us to know that it is you. We could actually recognize you. That's how many neurotransmitters are floating right now throughout the entire body. Consciousness and the body are literally glued together through this process.

@ForrestKnutson
@ForrestKnutson Жыл бұрын
First only worry about the Resonance Breathing and finding one of the Proofs. That's first. Then keep following this progression and practice Hakalau. In Hakalau the thoughts will stop as you practice. The whole of yoga is a practice which is more powerful than your mind. We are never using the mind to stop the mind because once you win you will still have your mind. 🙏

Dear Forrest, instead of doing HRV could i replace it with nadi shodana (alternate breathing) very slow 2/3 breath x minute? it works for me and i feel is the same effect. what do you think? And for the second round i could do also the kriya breathing. The point is to slow down the breathing to get HRV and alternate doing and being. im experimenting..thank you
@ForrestKnutson
@ForrestKnutson Жыл бұрын
Yes that's just fine, but sometimes you will get better results with the HRV resonance because you can also SVS at the same time so you will get the freeze response at the same time which is absolutely profound, blissful, and deep. So don't overlook that.

@ForrestKnutson
@ForrestKnutson Жыл бұрын
Mahamudra is one of my preliminary exercises. So I do this to condition the body before I meditate. It lowers the blood pressure and it lengthens the muscle fibers which allows the mind to more easily let go of the body during deep States.

Hi Forrest, you doing a tiny misnomer to the public repeating what so many are erroneously referring as to the third eye and about the kechari mudra is not the pituitary, which is where your tongue reach and stimulates the release of DMT it is rather pineal gland whereas the pituitary is further back at the base of brain. I do I know I am a physician, and this is an important distinction and an erroneous statement being repeated by many. Did you also know that very recently the release of DMT by the practice of the mudra in science was discovered that DMT is a hormone that send signal to our very own cell repair to go work where needed and repair the body and why those who practice this technique live much longer than most. I hear that one yogi documented to have leaved to 176 yrs old and another to 142 yrs. I am practicing this daily ever since science had discovered this hormone role in the body is the best antiaging hormone made by the pineal gland. Hope it helps to clarify matter> Continue the importance of being a continuous mindful breather.
