Forscan airbag module set up

New restraint control module was installed in a 2017 ford f350. Used forscan and as built data to program/set it up. It showed an error code in the video, but it went thru and everything was configured correctly!

Hi, I am driving a 2017 ford fiesta. Airbag blow after accident. I replaced all the airbags and seatbelts, and clear the Airbag module. but the airbags light is on and I have these 2 codes that come back right away. B00A:68 and B00A:68-8B (Occupant classification system). please need help.

Hey there, I have a 2019 F350, 6.7. I believe it was a flood truck, and I purchased it, not knowing. We believe the RCM is fried, I lost a lot of communication with other modules, and all issues persist when RCM is unplugged. I have a matching, used RCM. Do i simply follow these steps? Or would it require me to adjust the VIN as well? I would like to do this without the dealerships' help if possible.

Another question, my symptoms include a complete loss of the front controls interface module, issues with the BECMB, and several messages including service advance trac, Hill control descent, etc. Could the RCM be the sole culprit do you think? Or should I be replacing multiple parts to be sure I do not fry another RCM?

@@austinwilliams7829 well if u have a bunch of communication codes, and a module is bad it could be knocking other modules offline, and or causing issues.

@@austinwilliams7829 Did you figure it out? I know on 2016 explorers the RCM will throw abs/traction lights also. Have 2 that fried RCM while jump starting dead batteries

Not yet. Insurance is taking over. Two dealers won't even touch it, but I finally found a Ford that would. They are pushing insurance to total the truck. That is interesting, though! This run of problems started with a parasitic draw, I was jump starting it regularly with a NOCO

Hello, good day. I have ford flex 2014. Airbag light is on after accident. B1193 code comes in DTC. Also cruise control is not working. Horn, and other buttons on the steering wheel are perfectly working. My question is. If i replace the clock spring only, The Cruise control will be functional? The airbag light will turn off? Please reply. As i am short of funds now, later i will change the SRS module. But now i need the cruise control to be functional. Thanks & best regards.

You can try and clear the crash data with forscan. Don’t reset set it, but there’s an option to reset crash data. And have you scanned the cruise control so see what it says? If all the buttons work than there may be another problem or maybe because the airbag light is on it’s disabling the cruise? Either way I would try and get forscan and try and reset the crash flag, and then go after the cruise Control.

No idea. You need a device capable of deleting crash data.

Hi ! I am driving a Ford Explorer 2013. The driver's seat airbag and the curtain airbag have gone out and the warning light is on. I scanned it with forscan and found U0151 Lost Communication Whit Restraints Control Module error. In this case, is it necessary to replace/reset the airbag module? Is it possible to remove the error using forscan? Please help.

You need to diagnose the U0151. Go thru the diagnostic steps for that code.

Can we do it on damaged airbag without installing new air bag module?

I’m not sure what you’re asking? Can you replace the airbag module and program it without installing new airbags? If so yes, I’ve programmed airbag modules while waiting on parts. But if you have an error code for locked and full crash memory you will need to reset it with iprog, carprog, upa, ultraprog or any tool that will clear crash data.

If it has a crash locked and full message, stored in the airbag module, it cannot be reset with forscan

Why would you want to change it to my vin? Or are you asking how to change the vin in the used module to your vin?

@@vvaskevich that should be possible. I believe if you go under programming and as built configuration rcm you should be able to change the vin. But you also need to make sure the as built data in the module Matches what your truck had.

As built data on the website has less fields than what my RCM module shows. Wonder what I should be doing with the extra fields? Anyone had this issue?

You can go to motorcradts website, enter your vin and pull all the as built data/codes you need.

@@Dan-yt7oe are you pulling the as built data from the motorcraft website? Also when you enter it. Clear the codes. And see if it’s a glitch in the software. Also make sure the device you’re using has updated firmware. And you’re using the latest version of for scan.

Not that I know of. You would need to use a tool like iprog, ultraprog, upa, carprotool or obdstar p50
