I've had a Qwest for about three years now, I can confirm it's a great lid. It is fairly quiet, but that's actually the one thing that bugs me. With the clear visor it's fine, but with the tinted visor you have to lock it or the thing shakes and whistles. I know it's safer anyway, and I've gotten used to it, but I like the visor on my RF-700 (IIRC) back in the day better.

I have the Quantum X in Diamond White. The shield latch is only a problem when the helmet is brand new, it's just hard to pull the shield up. When you have gloves on, it makes your thumb big enough to push the button up at the same time as the shield.

Funny you should peg the HJC CL-17 as crazy-loud: to my ears, it seems relatively quiet, but then again I'm usually hovering at low-subsonic speeds on my Vespa GTS (an extended run at 75mph constitutes a hooligan run for me), but even dialing the wick up doesn't become deafening wearing this lid. Could it be a fit thing? Also, as an aside: the Sena 3S-W headset fits and works fabulously in the CL-17, making for a low-profile, high bang-for-the-buck choice for a "connected" FF setup.

I've got a helmet which has used a couple of times at the moment while I'm learning to ride at the moment and it's got s nice feel to it an MT synchrony tour duo, got it in a matte green finish give it a look, as a newbie rider this is a cheap helmet with a ratchet strap a peak which can be removed to turn the helmet into a road helmet! and it cost me £100ish probably about $120 to $130 depending on how well were doing in the exchange rate at the moment! Hopefully it will serve me well when I get my full licence and get to take my cb500x home

I know this is an older video but... Currently I'm in a 4XL CL-Max II (I've lost a decent amount of weight since getting it and feel better in a 3XL now though.) My issues is finding something that's not just plain Jane. I have a round head for sure and measuring from just above my Eye brows I'm 24" (60.9cm If i did the conversion right). Most "size" charts for brands must be way off as I've ordered a few "round" Helmets in the size they list for my measurement and they are tighter than they should be. Any input or suggestions? I'm thinking I'm gonna be stuck with the CL-17, or the newer versions of the CL-Max... Sadly neither have many graphics that I care for. Specially since I'd like to get something that is close or matches my 2018 Ninja 400 that's Solar Yellow (More of a light Orange), and Grey.

Anybody has experience with HJC RPHA ST? I'm wondering if it's quiet. Since Qwest is sold out everywhere in my size, ST was highly recommended as an alternative. I noticed it has a sizable chin gap, but it is very light and has a visor, which essentially makes it comparable to Shoei GT Air. Ryan?

I have a round shape head and own a CL-17 helmet. It's very heavy, it's laud and it's not really round. I would avoid it. After 2 years of struggle I bought a GMax F49 helmet and finally enjoy riding again. Gmax is making mostly round-oval helmets and they are perfect fit and also very light.

@patrickcarew52317 жыл бұрын
The Qwest is a great lid if you want a review. Quiet and very comfortable. Very wide viewing frame. If you can't try one on local, you should be able to find an RF1100 or RF1200 The fit is quite similar and the interior padding seems to be pretty much the same. I recommend the hell out of that helmet. All that said, I'm cheap and I picked mine up 2nd hand for a hundred bucks.

here in Scotland still Europe and want to be in Europe 😀 bell are cheap in prices. yes all helmet obviously have to pass s standard. that didn't make them great. the high end ones ats not bad but the lower ones are not in same league as their competitors. one of my god friends works at a certain large motorcycle accessory store and they have shit tons of them left over and when I was looking for a replacement lid he told me to stay cleat of them. so they can't be that popular.... just my opinion from holding the helmet and looking at the details and quality also from what I've been told from the friend. I do however like their piss put helmets but I wouldn't be seen dead in one. lol
