Good to hear Neils outlook and approach to open. Definitely an option I'm looking at depending on how my first pro show goes as well this December. Classic is just too competitive and the weight cap kind of makes the possibility of moving up highly depending on whether or not you're already at it and how shredded you come in. The reality is, if I hit my weight cap of 215 and I'm peeled to the bone and still don't win a pro show, then the likelihood of me ending up even placing inside the top 16 at the O is even more unlikely no matter how long I were to chip away at it. A lot of it classic is really dependent on your structure which is something you could never train to improve. However, the health risks of being in the open is the big reason why I'm so apprehensive of making that switch. It really comes down to how passionate you are vs what you're willing to risk - that's probably why classic is so much more popular.

I agree being over 5'8 in the open class would take a long time to fill out the frame to compete. Thats why Jamie the Gaint is crazy being that tall with the amount of muscles. That is why classic is more favorable for guys over 5'8 since it does not have to require a lot of time

Seeing previous Olympias where they had the 1on1 posing rounds. Those times were more fun for the fans of open. Also, everyone complained about the time open guys get in. Maybe the olympia got too big with all these categories and they need more days? We are looking at this O like “oh, the smaller guys pulled it off, amazing”, but I think there was also a thing of who managed to nail the peak timing better in those chaotic late night hours. Open class deserves better. But if they put them in first, then probably half the venue gets empty afterwards.
@peterrusted2416 Жыл бұрын
Keep in mind with Derek, it's his first time without any weight cap, so a lot of that density he KEPT rather than loosing it to make weight, probably needs more time to "stick". He's probably still growing into the physique. Where next year with an additional year carrying the density and fullness, it'll show a lot better next year

just an idea, how about hotels and flights for the top 10 of each class from the previous year, this could discourage many of the no hopers from attending as now they must pay their way to the Olympia, no more freebies. So lets say there are 10 classes, that's 100 people get paid flights and accommodation, that's 300 people less, the money saved could go towards better prize money for the classes, especially the classic as $50k is a joke. Keep up the great content, been a follower when you and luke started this all...much respect.

I agree with you Hoss Breone looks better in the back double bicep bent back if you have a good back arching your back makes your back look thicker and deeper I don't think so either as long as you can still open your lats up unlike Rami. Samson reminds me of Melvin Anthony. Phenomenal physique and got hard but the glutes were always really soft comparatively. Some guys just store more body fat in that area and its not the same fat distribution over the rest of the body.

They should try to cut it down to 15 in the future and reduce the other classes. I agree with Fouad that they should only give the winner from the previous year automatic qualification. It means you're adding in Derek, Nick, Brandon and Ramy into regional shows which means you're adding prestige to qualifiers. From there try to figure out how to reduce the number of shows. I'd agree about the structure of the press conference. Blessing can come in and talk a great game, but physically it was clear that Nick was a different level.

Two show tiers for pros Tier 2 show winners have a till the end of the following colander year where they can compete at tier 1 shows (If you win in say March 2023 you have until the end of 2024 to compete in a tier 1 show) Tier 1 show winners qualify for the Olympia and you stay qualified for tier 1 shows until the end of the following calendar year Only top 3 at the Olympia re-qualify Pro shows can have tier 1 & 2 line ups at same show
@tshn1971 Жыл бұрын
Only the champion from the Olympia should be qualified to next year. Group rest of the shows in a tier/point system where you get more points for top tier shows like Arnold Classic. You give points to top 2 - 5 of the previous Mr Olympia plus points for placing 2 and 3 in other shows. The final qualification to the Olympia is base on a point system where the first 20 athletes are qualified to Mr Olympia. A win in a top tier show should usually be enough for qualify to the Olympia. Hopefully this would make the top pros do at least one more show each year, and more people are able to see the top pros.
