I’m going to sing the Anthem tomorrow and on Friday. Wish me luck ❤️

1- don’t start too high, because the song gets bigger as you go and you won’t be able to hit it right 2-be aware of volume, make it remain about the same to take away pressure on cords so you can hit the notes 3-dont smile while singing, keep jaw down to not sound weird or nasally 4-memorize the words

Cool! Hope it went well! (I see you posted 6 months ago.) I'm auditioning later today, as a matter of fact. I'm making sure I keep myself hydrated so my voice doesn't crack. I'm pretty confident, though. I grew up singing at church, and the National Anthem was in our hymnbook, so I've sang it plenty of times. I came here just to make sure I'm doing things right since I've never sang this song solo in front of a crowd before. (My heartbeat quickens just thinking about it!) I HAVE sang other songs in front of a crowd before (plenty of times), so I'm not worried at all. I just need to find a good spot to practice at my school where I won't bother anyone! {:-)

Your point 4 makes you an actual National Hero sir. This is the ONE song, the ONE, that you don't mess with. You don't add notes. You sing it as written. It's also one of the very few songs that when sung so, is actually far more emotionally impressive because those notes and the holds and the jumps are all tied to meanings within the lyrics and the context of what it is about. ESPECIALLY the land of the free. That one note, held, unwavering, unchanging, constant... symbolizes the flag, the constitution, the land of the free. And the power of just hitting it and holding it really comes across any time someone does it right. As you say, spice up your own songs all you want, but this is a tradition that you are getting to participate in. This is an honor, a civic duty almost (not really but deserves that same respect). You don't make up a salute for the flag, or add words to the pledge of allegiance. Why would you "spice up" the National Anthem?

I enjoyed this video! I am an American living overseas so when I watch the singer singing the The Star Spangled Banner at the big games in the states I get a rush of energy and feel so proud. That kind of thing goes down in history so it’s a big responsibility for the singers. Thanks for a great video.

my pitch is fine, but what i am on the fence about is my voice naturally flips to head, and when I want to sound like a belt, it hurts me i start coughing. Can i indeed sing the higher parts in my natural head placement, or am I not singing this stylistically correct if i avoid chest?
@montexan14055 жыл бұрын
Christina Gurrola Work on exercises that erase your break, 360 breath and singing scales, lips rolls, and octave training will help with the indecision. Mine is right on my break but I can’t tell from so much training it is all one in the same how.

Love these tips. I'm singing the national anthem at our local rodeo. I am not changing anything note wise except going up at the end of free (if i feel like i can nail it) might skip it if I'm too nervous 😂. I feel like it should be sang with reverance and doesn't need bells and whistles added to it.
