Hey yall! This is a longer video than normal but alot of fun to make!! Leave me a comment and let me know if you want or have an 8040 and your thoughts on it! Thanks for watching!!!

Did you have a X Limit switch to plug into that comes off the top wire harness? I purchased the foxalien with the 8040 extension kit and I don't see a place for x limit to go in, also it seems like none of the axis will move from time to time.

Thanks for the video and thanks for providing both the $ commands and the dimensions of the workspace needed for the upgrade.

Hey, thank you for the video. gave me new ideas for my FOX Alien. Do you think it's worth upgrading my Masurer pro, if there is an extension?
@TheCrawlspaceCraftsman9 ай бұрын
There is an 4080 extension kit for the Masuter Pro. It makes the Y axis longer. I have it and it’s a great upgrade!!! I say go for it! It’s better to be able to do larger projects! Thanks for watching!!!

Ok, thank you for your reply, I'll try to get it.

Good morning 🌅, I am very very new to CNC , I have noticed that all machines have very short cables to connect to the machine to the controller, is there a reason for this, from France
@TheCrawlspaceCraftsman4 ай бұрын
Not really sure honestly. Could be to save some money. Good luck on your new hobby! It’s a lot of fun!

17:38 What is the spray for, what kind of spray is that?
@TheCrawlspaceCraftsman2 ай бұрын
That is Acceleration Spray. It makes the bond of super glue literally instant! If you don’t use Accelerator spray…. I would wait about 5 minutes for the super glue to bond.

@TheCrawlspaceCraftsman thanks, I thought you were using alcohol spray in another video. I've bought 70% alcohol for that application, hopefully it will work. Starting out..just making first cuts on my new masuter3. Thanks again for your videos❤

Hi, Great video that is pushing me to purchase. Could you measure your machine in both x and y with max travel including the wiring chain so I can look at enclosures. Thanks, Lee

Yup! I’ll post soon!

That's the machine I'm aiming for when I'm back in Sydney Australia. can you tell me if can that machine can cut 3/4 mdf. mostly that will be my main materials
@TheCrawlspaceCraftsmanАй бұрын
It definitely can with CNC but laser would be tough unless you have a really powerful laser. 40w+ (output)

I just wanna show you what are trying to achieve when I buy the Masuter pro 8040
@D_Morse3 ай бұрын
Good exposition of your upgrade. One question, though: Does FoxAlien offer a linear rail upgrade for just the Y axis? I've only seen the kit for both X & Y for the 4040 base version of the XE PRO.
There’s a link to the Y Axis upgrade for the XE Pro.

If you have time please visit Pearl and Pine, she is a lady with amazing wood art. And I think The Masuter 4080 will do the cutting, and I just shaping it with orbital sanders or can Masuter do the 3d of that?. please watch even 1 short video of her. Thanks and let me know what you think please
@TheCrawlspaceCraftsmanАй бұрын
I absolutely did check and subbed to her channel! Good stuff! I think she’s using 1/2-3/4” MdF and laser cutting it. If that’s the case she’s probably using a very strong Diode (40-60w output) or CO2 laser.

What is the height of this thing? I want it to sit under another shelf. When operating I pull it out, and if not used, it needs to stay below that shelf. How much space do i need?
@TheCrawlspaceCraftsman25 күн бұрын
You need about 22” to be safe!

Very informative, I am in the hunt for a shop Cnc Router that I can use for starboard and aluminum plates. My brain is so confused with all the varieties and machines and would like to know what you recommend and is Fox Alien 8040 a good machine.

Thanks for watching!!! This foxalien is a GREAT Machine! I know there are a lot of choices out there and a lot I have not messed with! I love the machines I have reviews so far. I would go with a ball screw / linear rail before belt driven. Hope that helped a little!!

Haven't finished the video yet, but how does this compare to your Nymolabs?

Hi. Sorry to bother you again but i need a confirmation. In the site page about this expansion kit they stated there is ''ONE'' Dust Baffle, but watching your unboxing they seem to be ''TWO''. Could you please let me know ? (ps: sorry for my poor English)
@TheCrawlspaceCraftsman9 ай бұрын
Can you post a link? I don’t see anything about a dust baffle. If your your talking about the sides on the spoil board to protects from dust getting in the Y rails…. It comes with Two.
@IceCreams629 ай бұрын
@@TheCrawlspaceCraftsman Yes, thanks, i was talking about that. Perfect 🙂

How much rigidity are you loosing with this extension?
@TheCrawlspaceCraftsman9 ай бұрын
Zero. These machines are very well built with no flex.
@lukasvymetal26652 ай бұрын
@TheCrawlspaceCraftsman the same with accuracy?! Is it still about 0.05mm?

What would be a good table size for the XE Pro 8040?
@arthurpetch28747 ай бұрын
I see at about 16 minute point you suggest a bench size of 32 inches deep by 51 inches wide.
@TheCrawlspaceCraftsman7 ай бұрын
Yup!!! Go wider if you want space for laptop or more space!
