I got into this about two months ago and built my first analog system, got the HDOs and TBS, the whole thing. Then DJI announced the release of this system. I have built two DJI systems now and have not looked back. I have to hand it to you guys doing the analog thing. This video is just too good to go back. This is a great channel Nurk - a good place to learn.

The construction guy has the right idea! HD fpv could be really useful for planning construction work. I've had the same comment from a couple of curious passers by when I've been flying a whoop in the park.

hopefully some sort of ground station set up for ride alongs comes soon, also i wonder if there would be any benefits or drawbacks to being able to switch off the dji radio control? is it such a small data packet it just doesnt matter in terms of the overall video signal?

After watching your DJI fpv system review, looks like I should hold off on buying the Skyzone O2C fpv goggles. I feel like I'm going to waste my money if I buy it. I hope my decision is correct.

I would recomend led mode during day, focus mode off and screen at 70.

I would use Crossfire and my radio and use the DJI video feed, then no loss of latency far away and flying with a radio you are used to.

I loved the reactions great way to show off the system. Closing in on 75 packs on it and I'm still flying slower. There is almost too much information in your view. I find I like focus mode off, to me it makes the signal degradation closer to analog minus static of course. The focus mode bars were too distracting for me. For Gen 1 DJI did really well however there are some very strange minor drawbacks. But this is about the best FPV purchase I have made since getting into the hobby over 4 years ago. My #1 wish if for a slightly smaller VTX only version of the AU. No DVR, no control link etc. An AU even 10% smaller would help with cramming it in lots of builds.

I am 99% sure that removing the control link from the air unit would not change it at all. My assumption is that the control link is basically free because the HD VTX needs to send and receive signals from the goggles anyway, so it already needs a receiver. Now if they removed the recorder, they could save at least a tiny bit of space, but again, probably not much since they need all the parts to build the video to send anyway. But I am curious to see what DJI comes up with next. Hopefully more options.

Man this video was great but it's not making this dilemma any easier!! :D haha I've only been flying for 9 months and at the point where I'm pretty tired of my Aomway V1's. I was so excited to save up and get some OLED goggles, but now this?? I only fly 5" maybe 20% of the time that I can fly because of tight spaces in my area, most are micro and toothpick days....so I think I'm just gonna stay in a holding pattern, if they can shrink the air unit enough to put on micros or make the goggles accept analog easier then I'm going to have to get this system.

yeah, the motor was whack... It wouldn't roll properly and I was overcompensating with the left-stick. we think it was desyncing. I've prolly flown about 50 packs in my life, but, I don't think I'm as bad as it was showing.... as soon as I tried to line up with the runway, it was off on it's own.
