FPV-Power Lithium battery and BerleyPro Batterang Bro mount.

Here is the FPV-Power Lithium battery and BerleyPro Batterang Bro mounted in my Hobie Compass. They will install in your typical 8" circular hatch.
For wiring the FPV-Power pigtails - the brown wire is Positive + (red) and the blue wire is negative - (black)

Tim, you had no problem add the FPV-Power Lithium battery on your Hobie using the YP-RP5R Power Panel Switching System

Do you still need the inline voltage regulator in front of your lowrance if you use the FPV hub?

The only time I needed it was when I was running the HDS Carbon with 3D StructureScan. I now run a Lowrance Elite Ti2 12 on one kayak and the Lowrance Elite FS 9 on the other....I no longer need the regulator with these units.

FPV power battery seems to be pretty good but the price point is way off market that single battery on Amazon was 225 dollars that's crazy in my opinion. let's remember all batteries are eventually disposable in the course of just a couple years at best

Hey Tim .. I think you are mistaken with the Recharge cycles .. The FPV (Lithium Ion) only gets 400 to 800 ... Compared to the the LiFePO4 chemistry which gets 2000.

Tim. I looked at the FPV site and they state to not use in systems that exceed 6amps. Have you had any issues? If I recall the Yak power switching system is rated to 15 amps? Just curious about compatibility. Thanks.

I believe it's rated up to 15 amps, but I will never get anywhere near there with the Lowrance and some LED lights

Yes, you should still have a fuse, rather that be inline or before each component.

Hey bud I have a 9 inch hatch so I made a replica out of Perspex. My question is what screws do I use. Do the screws self tap into the plastic holes? Any help would be much appreciated

Yes, they are just stainless steel self-tapping screws.

@@TimPercyKayakFishing are they pointed end screws that bite into the plastic screws in the battery? I thought there was threads in the battery but when I took out the plastic screw holding the battery together I realized its just a hole.

I didn’t think the plastic screws were supposed to come out to make it work and didn’t want to have to spend the money on the batarang just to get the screws, but it sounds like you had to buy your own acres anyway so that would have been frustrating . I made my own battery holder out of plywood trying to save a little money.

I have not run it on the Carbon. The Carbon with the 3D StructureScan is a bit of a power hog, so I've always run my 30Ah battery with it. I have the new FVP-Power dual battery setup coming that I'm going to do some testing with.

I have no issue going the whole day+ on the 30Ah I have now, in theory, I should be able to last if longer with the two 17.5Ah batteries.
