Fractal Meshify 2 Compact: The BEST got BETTER!

In this video we finally got our hands on the brand new Fractal Meshify 2 Compact. We did a build with it, tested thermals and came to the conclusion that this is BETTER than the the original Meshify C. Stick around to see how we got to that conclusion.

Great case and review! Went from a Fractal R3. Got an i7-10700k with a BeQuiet Dark 4 Pro which has clearance for a set of 16GB 3600mhz Ballistix, RTX 3070, RM750x with 2 SSD's and an M.2 boot drive. Case is absolutely silent compared to the old i5 2500K rig it replaced and I'm getting much better thermals than I'd thought after hearing how hot this CPU is. The case is such a good size and does everything I need. Completely agree with the feet of the case though, the desk I'd been building on was a right mess afterwards. I had to remove the bottom hard drive casing as even though my PSU is modular, a lot of the cables were extremely tightly pushed in. I might try and velcro a drive in for more storage. Really shocked at how well the included fans worked, I had budgeted another £50-£60 on some ThermalTake ToughFans but I'm more than happy with the performance. If anyone is looking for a silent case, don't get sucked into a case with sound deadening, you'll find the fans work harder and create more noise than a mesh case like this!

I guess Fractal changed the rubber on the case bottom after your review. I got my case a week ago, and there are no problems at all with rubber marks on my (white) desk. Oh well, as I comment here, I will also say thank you for your informative channel and excellent reviews.

I'll saw this pc case live in white color and am surprised how easy is the management of cables, the design is almost screw-free, it's very nice, what i'll dont like much is the glass is a little tinted in the dark version, but not in the white color. overall a cool, good, and very functional.

Great to see you mention RAM clearance. Standard GSKILL Trident Z is 44mm vs 41mm with the Neo. Probably won’t fit with a top mounted X/Z63 AIO. Case manual says 40mm clearance maximum.

Huh. Interesting thing from looking at this, looks to me like it would be really easy to modify the case to add a 5.25" external drive bay down the bottom in place of those drive sleds, and you even have the nice hinged door to cover up any ugly bay devices. Would be great for onboard card-readers, ODDs, or hotswap bays.

Did you not have issues with the ram clearance?.. those GSkill are 43mm heights!? Instructions for the case say 40mm max.. I’ve got the same AIO having the change by Corsair vengeance pro rgb 45mm for Crucial ballistix max rgb only 39mm... fans thickness is the same 25mm. Could the mobo have the ram slots lower down compared my board 🤔🤷🏻

If only it would be like 5mm's taller. I have this case and I love it so far, but the top mounted radiator (Arctic Liquid Freezer 240) with the fans are colliding with the Trident Z Neo ram sticks. So I had to carve some mm's away from the fan housing. It was this () close to perfection. But I love it regardless, it's a crazy nice home for my new system.

I really hope this comment finds you, because I wanted to build in this case but neglected to because black comes in a tinted glass and I wanted the same set up with RGB as you did here, but was wondering if the panel dims the effect of the lights making it not as visible or clear. With the Gigabyte X570S AORUS PRO AX and some Trident Z ram (same size as the neo's. I was able to fit a kraken x53 240 AIO on the top with 30mm Phanteks T-30 fans. With maybe a couple millimeters clearance left only. Picking the right motherboard so the ramslots are low is critical for top oriented AIO placement. I happily own this case now, it is my favorite case to date.

Build looks awesome! I love seeing all of the RGB from within - but does the tinted glass panel obscure the lights too much? I didn't see any footage of the completed build with the side panel on? Would I be better to go with a clear glass panel?

You can see the RGB from outside - it's subtle and I like it. I think the clear / light tint on the dark case breaks the lines.

I'm very curious if a meshify 2 XL Compact would be a good case. The combination of 3 x 140mm fans in the front, all closer to the hot components on the MB and the GPU. Also an extra PCI-E slot to allow us to better fit a vertical GPU bracket mod. Those 2 possibilities really appeal to me.
