You should probably temper your hype a little bit, 14% IPC over Redwood is not that impressive considering it's ~3% behind Raptor Cove in IPC, and if Meteor lake hints anything, the ring clock is awful, so we'll have to see how it pans out for Arrow Lake (Btw, it doesn't clock as bad as people expect) And as bad (yes, bad) as the Zen 5 uplift is, it's most likely winning this gen. Also Zen 4 already matches Golden Cove in overall IPC i don't see what you mean, it's just that GLC clocks even higher and has better memory perf. @radugrigoras5 ай бұрын
@@nontoxic9960 lol I have CAMM in my laptop right now and have taken the laptop apart multiple times messing around with the cooling. The modules sit just as far away as the old DIMMs used to, it’s only slightly more condensed than the old slot design. Also, just take into consideration that nobody has mentioned any issues with PCI-E Gen 5, the slot is much further away from the CPU than the DIMMs are and the theoretical data rate is the same as DDR5 8000. With gen 6 they will double that and still use the same slot. There is nothing wrong with the current design that cannot be overcome with better mobo design and layouts. At the g-skill booth they had both CAMM and regular ram doing 10600…You know what cpu they ran? An AMD APU, why? Because the memory controller is mainly what is holding you back and those were designed for laptops that have soldered LPDDR5 at 7600mt. All I’m saying is don’t fall for this being a magical cure, your CPU and a high quality mobo will make a much bigger difference than CAMM vs DIMM. Looking at the pin-out for LGA1700, in a perfect world your ram would sit on the left of the CPU, and your PCI-E would be on the right, that would give you the shortest and most direct traces. Mobos have just stayed with the same layout since the dawn of time and there is room for improvement in the general layout. If they wanted to keep the PCI-E at the bottom they would have to rotate the socket counterclockwise 90deg and then the ram would be at the top of the case. This is for LGA1700, amd might be completely different.

Its called the Apple syndrome, new iphone releases so they make last gen slower with updates

CPUz benchmark did always favor intel, while real world workloads did not reflect this favourism. Secondly, intel needs 250W+ to match AMD at 95-120W. I bet everyone remembers talk about cost over time. And that even 50W power draw difference makes big price difference in 2~3 years of use. (But for some reason, when AMD eats less power than intel/nVidia. This reality has been swept under the rug.)

Nvidia uses lesz this gen, radeons sucks now

Well i mean considering you forgot to mention that amd uses like 30w+ at idle compared to much less on intel due to the chiplet design already shows that you don't care about the truth or sweeping anything under the rug.
@DarkFox22325 ай бұрын
@@boink5550 You are bit confused, but it is OK. My entire system, including 7700X, 7900 XTX, liquid cooling, ... idles at 90~95W measured at wall socket. (While powering high resolution, high refresh rate HDR display... about which they say it prevents GPU from idling.) But that's about same power draw as same generation intel+nVidia with liquid cooling. You may think it is 30W+ difference just on CPU, but in reality it is less than 10W difference on entire system. So, let us give you this benefit and leave it at 10W. In case you game 1 hour a day and idle another 10 hours (not very energy conscious of you). You are still 20Wh less efficient on intel CPU. But if you game for 2 hours, intel eats 140Wh more. Intel only wins if you do not game on your gaming system at all. But it is OK. And I wholeheartedly recommend you intel+nvidia combination. And you should get individual components from ASUS. Put money where your mouth is. Because I certainly do. And that's why I have cool little system inside NR200P MAX. (And I dare you to do that with current generation intel+nVidia, so you can brag about power efficiency.)

Oops, I did it again I gave you 16 cores Got lost in the end Oh, baby baby Oh, you think I'm in love But I am out of for your money, caaaaaaash I am not that innocent -AMD Marketing Dept Shout out to AMD engineers, but f these company execs and their decisions AMD is becoming what Intel was with 4 cores. AMD will milk this 16 core as long as possible, not to eat into their own Threadripper. But then...they will only do so, until Intel beat them with 32 core consumer chip or something similar. I am starting to think engineers can do better, but they can't, because execs would not let them

nvidia needs to go into cpu's and compete with them they're just releasing the same shit for years on end
@HoldinContempt5 ай бұрын
If nvidia made a Gamer-specific CPU with HBM memory, stacked cache and a custom DIMM slot for RAM that shortened traced and was designed specifically for faster DDR ram frequencies and lower latency and sold the custom motherboard/RAM/CPU options with their graphics cards you would see a massive drop off in AMD/Intel sales. There are alot of people who only buy PC hardware for video games. If nvidia makes that and its better than the competition they can overcharge for that bullshit and the fanboys will pay out their assess for it.

ARM is important, but not for speed. Nvidia already makes CPUs but for the datacenter. If Nvidia does make consumer CPUs it will be for laptops to give more relative watts to the GPU. But hey I'd love to be proved wrong.

2:11 holy moly. The last appearance of good old gamer might be right. Without a big financial and philosophical technology change with AMD, they’re likely ca-poot!!! They WILL go out of business. Like you’ve rightfully pointed out Jufus, Intel’s the way to go. Any K skew. Don’t need the top AND water-cooling. I’ll be nice, you can if you want AND GOT THE MONEY, but in hard financial times for an individual, water-cooling and da most expensive chips are retarded.

Nobody makes hardware designed for gamers anymore. gamer hardware these days is just down bined server hardware. Amd designed the best server cpus as epic and repackages the scrap as ryzen cpu. Nvidia designs the best server gpus and sells the scrap as rtx.

New AAA games are becoming kind of garbage. Where it's not worth to be as upgraded as you should be, at least in my opinion. If I am not excited about a new game I don't have any excitement putting together a new build.
