Ah, but think of Karloff's contemporary and fellow Universal horror protagonist, Claude Rains. He appeared about 30 years later in "The Lost World," where he played a professorial scientist battling (non-CGI but trick- photografied, oversized and "costumed" iguanas) dinosaurs.

This is an awesome comparison! Both are classic films that I could watch again and again! I wonder if you’ll be doing more comparisons of movies later on?

Other than Dracula vs Spanish Dracula, and Dracula vs the Mummy I haven’t done anything like this before, but it was cool getting to make all these connections. I’d love to do more of these if that’s something you guys would be into!

I honestly never noticed the connection between Frankenstein and Jurassic Park. First, I am a huge fan of Jurassic Park franchise since I saw it in VHS as a little kid. Then, when I saw the any previews of Frankenstein (1931 film) the first time, it was scary to me. But eventually, it was fantastic. I thought that it was an incredible that you comparison between the two iconic movies from Universal Studios respectively. And by the way, Correction: both iconic movies came out separated between 1931 and 1993 which means that was about 62 years apart.

She did a trailer reaction, so I'm sure a review isn't far off. Can't wait!

Antonia, a suggestion for a future subject: Feature(s) on "supporting" actors Edward Van Sloan -- remarkably in three(!) Universal classics (Dracula, Frankenstein and The Mummy); Dwight Frye and Lionel Atwill. Maybe one on Glenn Strange, as well, who played the Monster the same number of times as Karloff.
@AntoniaCarlottaСағат бұрын
Poor Edward Van Sloan has been like third on my list for a year now, but other video topics keep leap frogging over him. Dwight Frye is a bit further down on the list, but he'll get his day soon too!

This was so insightful, but you forgot one thing....they're both parking structures at Universal! Joking aside, this really was interesting. thank you!

Any clergyman who could not get a year's worth of sermons from "Frankenstein" should turn in his collar.
