@@lightscamerakpop8144 It is possible, just perhaps less likely than if I were male. For one, confidence issues. For two, indecision. I need to be absolutely certain and know he's certain and have all the information before I would feel okay with asking. That would probably take longer for me than him. For three, I'm not expected to, so I don't have to awkwardly ask and experience the tension of 'will he say yes?' 'is he okay with this' 'am I overstepping?' 'should I run?'. This means it would take a while for me to decide to do it. Even if I end up deciding to, the male partner would likely get to it first. Which sucks for this hypothetical male, because my answer would probably be 'give me a few days to think about it' if he catches me by surprise. (My parents discussed it ahead of time, but I don't know if that's how it usually works or if my parents are outliers.)

I'm and INTJ married to an ISTJ for 28 years. Here's how it went down: First 4 months of dating: I made sure we covered lifestyle, financial views, religious/philosophical views, and childrearing views in our conversations-he was fine with that. When it was clear we were compatible he proposed. Him (ISTJ): I want to marry you. Me (INTJ): I want that too. Him (ISTJ): Then we should do that. Me (INTJ): OK Him (ISTJ): I'll take you ring shopping this weekend. I don't know what you like and I really want you to like it. Me (INTJ): OK It was the perfect proposal for us. And I picked out exactly the ring I liked. He was surprised it cost less than he expected. I was EXACTLY the INTJ bride FJ's 16 Personalities as Brides portrays 6 months after we started dating. Not only did I do it my way as a small intimate affair, we (everyone including parents involved) had no debt from it, came in under budget, and hubs and I made a tidy profit from financial gifts. A year later on our anniversary: Him (ISTJ): So you had a pros and cons list for marrying me and you checked off items one at a time while we were dating, didn't you? Me (INTJ): Of course, but it wasn't a physical list; it was in my head.

Yeah, that didn't come out right... I think I should have rehearsed the interaction a few more times in my head first. 😅 As the girl, I had never once practiced giving a proposal. Clearly that was an oversight! I totally didn't even realize he had taken it as a proposal until several days later. We were long distance (like literally "long-distance" back when it cost a lot of money to call someone who lived an hour away, and we only saw each other on the weekends) at the time and when we talked on the phone later the next week, he said he was so excited and he had told his parents and they were excited and I was literally like, "told them what?" I was completely confused. He goes, "umm, that were engaged..." I mean, I guess the results were the same and it was going to be way too awkward to correct, so I just went along with it. But, if I was going to propose, I would have done something seriously romantic. It wouldn't have just been in a random conversation. Instead, I was apparently engaged for nearly a week and didn't even know it... 🙄 (He's ISFP, if you're wondering) UPDATE: Scroll down to the 8th comment to get the details... INTP engaged to an INFP. We went to LOOK at rings and found a good deal. I love how he kept the ring until the next day to officially ask in a nicer setting. Oh wait that's right. He didn't ask 🤣. He just got down on one knee and was like "here you can have it now". All the while I was covering my face, 100% embarrassed. It was so awkward and yet so us 🥰! INTJ here. movie proposals always leave me anxious for the protagonist because i’d be distracted wondering if he can return the ring if she says no. culturally here, the couple would have had a discussion of intent and the boy would have had his family send a formal delegation to her family to agree a date etc coming with fairly low stakes gifts. then only when everything is confirmed would the wedding party arrive with the expensive stuff like jewelry. hollywood movie ‘romantic’ proposals therefore always feel financially risky to me!

I thought the one proposing in april's fool was SO creative, and it turns out it's INFP LMAO. I am INFP myself and I haven't proposed to anyone. I only did it in RPG. However, I dit like... like A LOT. Since I am an idealist, I wanted to make my person's ideals and dreams come true. It had to be fantastic. I took all of our memories and created a blog for him (both of our characters are male). I put there all the preparations I did, the entire month before proposing. Letters I wrote each day for him. When the day came, I gave this person the link and another gifts via app. I bought a ring and tuxedos for both our characters, and after he read the blog, I would send him to the app where I gave him the ring, and after that I would send him to the app where I bought the tuxedos, so that he could collect all the clues and romantic notes. The day we got married, I filmed 14 videos (14 because I asked him to be my boyfriend in Saint Valentine's day) showing him how I prepared the house that was going to be ours. How I decorated it, how it changed little by little. I did the house in an app for decorating houses. Then I edited a video with a summary of all the videos plus screenshots that are our memories, pictures together, etc. 14 parts, each one with a flower and an emotion he provoked in my heart. I let his favorite flower for the end. This RPG relationship is almost 3 years old now, and we are going stronger each day. I don't know if I will get to propose the same way to anyone irl, but I do know that IF an INFP really loves you, they will be willing to pull all those preparations and romantic details for you. And they will not get tired, because they want so bad to make you an active participant of their ideal life and world. You will be always included in their plans for the future and they will remember every detail about you that can turn a gift into something really personal and deep. Intimate. Fellow INFP, if you read this and you love someone, don't be afraid to take advantage of your artistic skills and abstract mind! You have the potential to create the most romantic and heart-felt gifts and proposals! Love for you💙 Edit: Writing this made me want even more to travel to meet this person. She's a lovely ISFJ and deserves the whole world.

And my ISTP hubby mentioned that diamond rings are way too overpriced, and I agreed, so we got a fairly cheaper one, which is more sparkly (moissanite). 😊 ✨ And he challenged pretty much every wedding cost that came up, asking if we really need it and if it really has to cost that much. 😆 I actually appreciate how he challenges the norms and makes me think. He was very sweet when he proposed. He was nervous and awkward, but I was prepared for that. 😉 After a day of doing all our fave things, eating all our fave foods, etc, at sunset, in a gazebo, he proposed.

ALL THE TIME for advice and emotional support. It gets freaking annoying after a while though when a part of you just wants to find someone who wants to be with you in a more than friends way. I'm not convinced there is enough time for the frustrating ritual that is sifting through dates that end in "lets go back to being just friends". "Sorry to disappoint but I don't feel the same way". As a probable INTP, I have to say that it's a good way to ensure compatibility. If someone gets offended by THAT, then they'll also be perpetually offended by the INTP during the marriage as well. And the significant other would have gotten offended prior to that as well, and a breakup would have happened well before a proposal, because INTP isn't going to keep mucking about with somebody who appears to dislike them. Which makes it a pretty efficient and smart thing to do if one happens to be an INTP, as a last-ditch check to make sure marriage won't be permanent misery. Um. I guess. Not that I have any experience to go on, lol.
@sherrilmagic67922 жыл бұрын
Well, it really depends on the people. As an INTP, I honestly don’t know how I would react if anyone proposed to me at all, especially if it’s in front of people or in front of a camera, or even in person! I’d feel pressured to say yes, without being given the time to seriously consider my answer, and I don’t think I’d appreciate that. Also, I’m not particularly romantic, so if the guy proposes in a fancy way with all kinds of expensive and/or thoughtful pieces to it, I wouldn’t appreciate that very much either. It would make me embarrassed. If he texts me though, I don’t have to reply right away and I have time to think things through. I also have time to get excited, squeal, do a happy dance, screenshot it, and send it to my INFJ sister who will celebrate with me. I think, in a way, texting would be better for the guy as well. He wouldn’t need an expensive ring, would have time to phrase the proposal in the way he really wants to, wouldn’t have to worry about lighting for a photographer or weather for an outdoor proposal, wouldn’t have to worry about stuttering, sweaty palms, pits, or brow, and he wouldn’t have to worry about any interruptions. Proposing through text definitely isn’t for everyone (on the proposing or receiving end,) but I think it could work out really well if the people loved each other and thought similarly enough about the subject.

I am an INFJ who was mistyped as an INFP for ages. I used to see my ISTP partner in the ISTP sketches, but never myself in INFP. These INFJ sketches though, now that I know, they hit me hard. 🙃

Instead of proposing, INFJ will give therapy or help her to propose her crush......"you've heard this before" (background song) Edit- OMG!! I laughed so hard when he said i just need to find a person 🤣🤣......poor INFJ☹️😂

INFP here! Why can I relate to our skit so much? A while back I literally asked someone out on April 1st so that if they said no I could be like "haha, just kidding". HOW IS THIS SO ACCURATE?!

And yes, female INFJs practice both the proposal their future fiancé will propose to them AND their own reacton to it.

ENTJ here, this is sooooo true!!!!! When my fiance was going to propose to me I told him, I was going to look for the ring and I went to different places and at the end we saved probably 70% on the price. My ring is beautiful, gold, high quality!! My fiance was like :O hahhahaha on point.

My ISTP husband let his uncle did all the talking to my parents when he wanted to propose me. 😅😅😅 I said yes instantly to avoid ambiguity because before this, he thought I wasn't interested in advancing the relationship into a more serious commitment. Now that ISTP guy has been married to me, an INFJ, for almost six years. We have been through ups and downs and miscommunication but are still going strong.
