So true realisation is beyond the spiritual path? So is the spiritual path required for true realisation? Or can it just happen without doing anything? Without striving towards a goal?
@frankyang3 жыл бұрын
No spirituality as a path is not required. Some people wake up spontaneously. Some people get stuck in spirituality for decades without realizing that spirituality itself is what's keeping them from waking up. Some people wake up but fall back asleep because their new spiritual egos pull them back into playing the spirituality game/role. Spirituality is just a set of tools, none of it actually has anything to do with enlightenment at the end, and eventually after Realization you realize spirituality is just another program no different from any other programs. All fabrications of the dream state. Tools for you to ejaculate yourself out of the dream. Once you're out the entire paradigm of spirituality becomes a story. The whole notion of enlightenment, God-Realization, emptiness and non duality becomes a big cosmic joke. I can tell you from direct experience my 93 year old grandma is more enlightened than 90 percent of the young spiritual kunts going around screaming "everything is One/God/Consciousness" and all she does is watch soap operas. "There's more truth to a blade of grass than the entire history of spirituality" - Adyashanti. Highly check out his book "End Of Your World", he's the only modern mainstream teacher who talks about true No-Self and transcending spirituality

Dude frank i could listen to you all day. Ive been in a really dark nihilistic phase lately. So much so that i have been contemplating suicide. I just couldnt find any reason or meaning in any aspect of my life. Everything felt so extremely dull. So pointless. An inablity to connect with anything or anyone. Its like all my motivation to exist at all just suddenly vanished out of thin air. No purpose or place... i had already been through the earlier stages of awakening with the help of psychedelics that started a few years ago. Had many spiritual highs followed by the lows... ive recently given up all forms of stimulation that provided me with altered states of conciousness (weed, porn, caffein, psychedelics, alcohol, prescription drugs, etc) and since then ive been feeling extremely nihilistic. After watching this video and recent content by Leo Gura, ive realized i may very well be going through the final stages of my awakening aka the dark night of the soul. It makes perfect sense. Ive completely burned down my entire indentity and sense of self through spiritual work the last few years so i guess im now finally picking up the debree. Its like out of nowhere i started feeling ok again. Both you and Leo posted a video at the perfect place and time in my life that it all makes sense now. Wasnt aware that i was simply going through the final stages of awakening. Your videos are so very well articulated and helped explain perfectly what im going through. I owe you immense amounts of grattitude my friend. Thanks for helping put things into perspective. Your content is helping save my life. 🙏🙏

Hi Frank, following is an comment from Leo's forum that summarises imo the view of many people in his community on this topic : "I think Frank misunderstands Leo. When he says I've been there in God-consciousness/realization state persistently over a year and a half and then went beyond to completely lose any center - this is not a state Leo talks about I also went through the stages to completely lose the center, like that bubble of self gets bigger and bigger until it dissolves completely but those are all still unalerted states of consciousness "sober" states. They don't feel nearly as solipsistic as 5-MeO trips, not even close. It's important to make this distinction because Leo talks about more ecstatic states which are clearly "alerted" states of consciousness. There's a pretty clear sort of feeling to them like when you snort 5-MeO and start to feel the effects, it's pretty clear you've ingested the substance and it's alerted state now. There's no such feeling to natty states Frank talks about, but as a tradeoff you miss a shitton of ecstasy and deep "understanding" Leo would call it At the same time, Frank has this obsession with "it" having to be a natural state which is unalerted. I personally don't see why a constant state of 5-MeO (even if alerted and chemically, artificially induced) wouldn't be "it" I agree with Frank about cessation showing clearly consciousnesses impermanence. And the problem is that Leo should IMO become much better meditator to have a more complete understanding and Frank should do more powerful psychedelics now, after his center/self-loss Frank misses much much deeper levels of solipsistic God discovery and Leo misses dependent origination, cessation expieriences" Have you considered taking 5 meo dmt again ? You could also answer on the forum : www.actualized.org/forum/topic/65952-frank-yangs-video-response-to-leos-video-about-stage-turquoise/#comment-902586
@frankyang3 жыл бұрын
This is spot on hahaha amazing summary. So this really comes down to "exploring altered states of consciousness" vs "enlightenment" the 2 overlap but they're not exactly the same. I tend to lean towards enlightenment work and Leo consciousness work. So it's actually a sweet combo for people who are interested in both. I'm willing to try psychedelics more yes but I haven't felt a calling for it yet. I think it's cool Leo and I share a lot of similar stuff but also coming from different angles and people are exposed to both :) enlightenment is an un-altered states of consciousness while the stuff Leo talks about is not, but that does not mean you can't explore altered states from the Full Natty State. But the thing I wanted to point out is the difference between the 2, since most people confused enlightenment with exotic altered states of consciousness. Ps. I kinda let go of the idea and attachment that sober way is the way. I see both meditation and enlightenment as both just being tools, and the effects and content of both techniques are mainly the dissolution of the separate self. This does NOT mean you can't explore those content.

The way I see it.. If you can "track the progress" so to speak, you are just fooling yourself with another game. To even speak of a spiritual path is wrong because it implies that there is some "end point". End points only exist within the temporal realm and are what the ego is concerned with, and while it is important to have goals in a human life, when it comes to one's spiritual life it is best to leave goals and measurements out of it, or one risks getting trapped within the ego.
@evedotcom3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I had similar thoughts. As much as he talks of the distortion of spiritual ego in these different stages, I still think this message would be attractive to the spiritual ego seeking a process to get somewhere else. Defining stages seems like it's part of a story. If you aren't the ego moving through a story, why define it? "For me", I see there's an allure in defining and refining ~my spiritual story~ because there's still some identification with it haha.

I feel lost, but kind of like comfortable in my sense of not knowing, and grown much more disciplined and content, but other than that I haven't made much progress.

You’re totally correct. And totally incorrect. The non-state of no one is the most transcendent, but it is nowhere near God realization, which necessarily requires psychedelics, tons of contemplative fitness, AND a level of understanding that most spiritual folk completely disregard the possibility of.
@frankyang3 жыл бұрын
I've done plenty of psychedelics In the past and have meditated to accessing states that comes very close to tripping on acid/DMT 24 7 for months at a time. Went through all the God Realization phases...and then there's more to the picture. You can't have a full Realization of God until you completely disappears into the fabric of the present moment/Reality so completely that there is nothing but the Divine penetrating Itself. So both god Realization and no self go hand in hand. The problem is most people who's claimed to Realize God on psychedelics haven't Realized True No-Self, so it's not the purest form of God-Realization, but still filtered through the lens of perception. God and ego and no ego are all just made up of the same no-thing, all are dependently arising

True realization comes full circle and doesn't stop at the nameless nothingness. True realization is realizing that the dream is how the nameless nothingness manifests, and to experience the dream with or without attachment (makes no difference, because All is perfect and whole) and with or without realizing reality's true nature (because it's not required for experience) is all that matters. Of course, realizing its true nature changes the perspective from separation to Oneness, but that will happen naturally over time, because we're always our true nature evolving in a way that can only ever be itself. Nice video again. The only bone I want to pick for fun, is the notion of impermanence. Such a beautiful concept or frame of perception to free the mind and dislodge types of fundamental human thinking, however wouldn't you say this itself is dependent on a foundation of sorts. Let me explain. Lets say there was a literal Nothing, not a nothing or void in a Buddhist sense, but a literal nothing as in actual nothing, in which a negation could not exists because within a literal nothing nothing exists to negate from it. This of course does not exist, this moment and exchange proves such, because if there was a literal nothing there wouldn't be this activity of understanding whats being read right now. That said, something is going on, a "........" if you will, in which impermanence can make sense, and everchangingness can occur or be noticed. So would you not say that impermanence is not fundamental, but a quality of "......" Now what is this "...", well it obviously seems to includes anything, including this typing, reading, thoughts, feelings, idea's, which include idea's of "I" "we", "you" "consciousness" "unconsciousness" and all sorts of idea's. It also seems to includes the break down of these concepts both intellectually and experientially, and seems to even include the none bringing up of concepts or thoughts, which could be said to be unspeakable because in speaking of such, thought and concept is activated. It seems to even include forms and non-forms, which of course can be discussed and theorized about and categorized and infinity broken down. However the critical part here is “seems”. The actuality is, as you seem to have seen as well is that there only is and ever has been “.....”

That's what I was trying to convey. It's very difficult to talk about it but the "no self" or emptiness is the _____ that manifest all things but in of itself is not exactly a Source but dependently arising through with and as everything else. At this point all analysis break down. That's why you go back to the simple notion that sometimes a blade of grass is just a blade of grass hahahhaa

@@frankyang Or a blade of grass, what is that? Ya this stuff is wonky at times in verbalizing, especially when you try to reach people whos knowledge and arguments and are heavily rooted in philosophers, theologians, linguists, scientists, biologists and each person who quotes and thinks they understand what was said, and only accept things within that realm as acceptable truths or claims to build upon and the supposed logical rules of how to argue and make a Truth statement. Lol. Anyways, great attempt, so long as some people can get a glimps thats all that matters.

Hi Frank I believe my wife is highly spiritual and sensitive as you are. She is suffering from bipolar psychosis. Along with psychiatric care how do you suggest for her and I to help process it on a spiritual level. Thanks 🙏

Somehow I exploded her ego and she is trying to explain it to me. It is hard to understand because it is counterintuitive to my ego.

What if friction is a good thing? For example, let's say the pornstar or CEO is not doing something that they enjoy, and the friction is guiding them into new areas. A Vipassana teacher told me that Buddha wanted people feel and experience life to it's fullest, but we should use tools to keep us in check, in case we go overboard. A good surfer, doesn't chase every wave, but waits for the right one.

Hey Frank, I've a question , when the physical body of an enlightened being dies then what happens afterwards ?

My best guess: Infinity

Can you expand on excepting mortality? I agree this is important for peace in the classical sense of individualisation. But what about Conor claiming he’s God and lives forever and if he dies he just respawns? (Doesn’t seem to except death) Or Jesus saying “those who understand these words shall not taste death” ? Or no self mediators claiming to not exist or already be dead. Or Mooji simply telling children they are not going to die (doesn’t sit right with me) How do all the perspectives link together?
