Hopefully this can help someone out there and save them from replacing the display, I had a comment this could also help with a Kenmore Series 700.

8/2023 Worked! I would recommend avoiding the putty method and just take off the entire top cover (multiple videos on how to do this on KZbin), it gives the option to clean any detergent spots and remove built up dust. Also it was way much easy to unhook the screen. Once the solder joints are clean and everything is put back together, reset the error code for reassurance (also how to on KZbin). I've done 3 loads back to back and no issues!

Thank you so much!!! I tore apart the washer top and entered the diagnostic mode and found it odd that the buttons still worked with those selections. Looked into ordering a new user interface, $260-350, insane! Searched around for more help and found your video. Used just a plain qtip on the contacts that were visible and wahoooooo, it works! My husband is thrilled I was able to get this done and save money. 3 year old Maytag MVWB765FW with F6 E2 error

Awesome first time all i had to do was same process as you guys....second time had to solder almost exactly a year later but so far so good
@user-bv8dc3xj7n4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I didn't have to solder anything, which I am very thankful for since I don't have an iron small enough to work on that board. Cleaning up the contacts with some rubbing alcohol and qtips seemed to do the trick. First load is running now, so I'm not 100% sure it's back to full operation, but it's working much more like normal than it had before (it's making the sound now, but didn't before). Those massive capacitors had me worried, but I let it sit unplugged for about 30m before opening it up. FWIW, I'm not sure I would have figured out how to get the top panel off without breaking it. Thanks again!

Thanks, had a incompetent repair man quote me $650.00 to replace what turned out to be the wrong board. Between your post and pressing three buttons three times to reset the console I’m back up and running. Great video hats off to you.

Man thank you for posting this! It was exactly what was wrong. And get this paid a appliance repair guy to diagnose it and they told me I would have to replace the control board. So I told him I would get back with him. And I went and ordered a control board today just to find this video. Hopefully I can get my money back tomorrow. So you saved me a bunch of money! thank you thank you very much

Glad I could help, mine seems to have fits about once a year and usually just need to clean up solder joints guess it must get some moisture in there
@matthewwilliams7853 жыл бұрын
This fix worked a second time. It is likely moisture in the humid florida air that keeps getting those metal places dirty. Thanks again!!

Thank you for the video. I cleaned some of the filth from the interface board, but the main issue for my F6 F3 error was that the connector to the main board was slightly loose and disconnected. It must have shimmied upward from all the vibrations over the years. I popped that baby back in and put a little liquid electric tape over it to keep it snug.

I know this is an video but I thought I would share my experience in case anyone are having the same issue. I got someone to come and check it. They told me I have to replace the control touch screen panel and I might as well change the control board. He recommended me to buy a new washer. I sat for a couple days thinking what to do. Buy the parts or buy a new washer. I came across this video and read the comments. I did exactly this. Clean the contacts with rubbing alcohol and cute tips. Guess what!!!!!!??? My washer works perfectly fine now. Please take note for these types of models. Do this before buying anything.

Yea thats basically why I made the video, I couldn't find this fix anywhere else and figured if it could save people a couple hundred bucks and its a super easy fix.

Okay, tried the quick fix and I continue to get a F6E2 or 3.. The corrosion is removed and it looks good but doesn't work and I've done a reset and left power off for a while... same issue diagnostics push buttons works and reset works but then power does not. I would think getting a new "Whirlpool WTW8500DC2 Console - Genuine OEM" at $185 would be the right part to get or do I need to get the Control unit at $295? BTW, I did check the cable continuity and it was fine. Thanks, good video!

It might be solder joints that you can't see as well this just ended up being the fix that worked for me. Did you try soldering it other than just cleaning it?
@dsnowgod3 жыл бұрын
How do you get the top part to release? Putty knife and everything else I slide in there does not work. I break things and I'm about at that amount of pressure. Please give more detail.
@milmor19883 жыл бұрын
Hey Joe, it takes a little bit of work to find it and it feels like you are going to break something, it takes me about 5 minutes to find it the first side and then only like 30 seconds the second time. Go in where i showed and the video and prod around until you hit something and just press it back it's like a spring loaded clip

Was able to finish that load of clothes, then on the next load it did it again, so i unplugged it once again , plugged it back in and now it doesn’t even turn on, no lights, nothing. Any ideas? Is it fixable?? Thanks!

I have an easier fix. Just pull the electric plug, then press "Hold To Start" button to discharge the power supply filter capacitor. When the lit display panel finally goes off, wait a few seconds and plug the washer cord back in the outlet. The washer will reset itself and you will be able to use the washer without any error codes. No screwdrivers, no cleaning terminals, no soldering, no expense. This works with most smart devices.
