The oldest thing in my sewing area is a Singer Treadle Machine. It has beautiful carving on the 3 side draws & the front draw. It still sews. I bought it from an antique store in 1975, it was very old then.

I am on my fourth just squares quilt. One was made with 2” square and the other three are made of 2 1/2” squares. When I make my label. I put how many squares are in the quilt and call it Just Squares. Two were all colors, one blue and white and this one I am doing now is greens and creams. So far have 600 squares in the green quilt. Thinking 600 more and it will be a good size. There so fun. Thank you Pat for the great idea. To use up my scraps. Once I finish my green one. Going to start 3 1/2” squares. I have a ton. Already started one. But small still.

Hi Pat! Love your Kitty Christmas fabric-it's by the same folks that did Kitty Corn! So cute 💗💗 Thanks for the tip that this could be done in any fabrics. I will wait till they're finished & might have to do it in fall fabrics. That red witch fabric is just a hoot!!

Right now the oldest thing in my sewing area is a quilt made by my great grandmother for my father for his high school graduation. I’m guessing it’s about 90 years old. It’s hand stitched and quilted. It’s going to be boxed up and sent to my cousin to be gifted to her daughter for Christmas. Third generation in the family! I am also passing onto another cousin a ring that contains the stone from our grandmother’s engagement ring. I am the third generation to wear it (my mother wore it after my grandmother passed), and after wearing it for over 50 years, it’s time to pass it on as well. This will be given to my cousin’s daughter for her 40th birthday. So glad to find family members who want these items!

Sewing along using "Kitty Christmas"--thanks for showing your fabric selection. It is so hard with the "Mystery" Sew Alongs to know what to choose when you haven't seen the finished pattern. But YOU have! so that equals great guidance!

The oldest item in my sewing room are a pair of barber shears that belonged to my great great grandfather given to me by my grandmother. They are over 150 years old. She used them to cut our hair when we were young.

I may have mentioned this before, but since you brought up your chair, I have the same exact chair that you have. Same color. Love the chair, but there’s one thing it does that drives me crazy. I have a plastic or vinyl desk chair mat under my chair. If the chair rolls off the mat, it often has one roller pop off! Then I have to turn the chair over and pop it back on! I try to be very careful not to have this happen, but sometimes it happens. I have the mat there to protect the hardwood floor. Maybe I should try and find a new, larger mat.

Thanks! to make it larger you need to draft it from scratch yourself. There are no tools to do that for you, just knowing how to draft patterns

The oldest things in my sewing space are a set of extra quilt blocks. One was sewn by my grandmother who was born in 1888. The other is a set made by my Aunt that was born in 1918. She began it for her hope chest when she was 15. My cousin actually has the quilt tops.
