Beyond the Gates of Antares 2nd edition, as well as all the faction rules are free on their nexus site. They even have free stls for some of the factions on there too

Warmaster Revolution - rules + army lists, just use 40x20mm card tokens for the units characters - but you will weaken and 3D printing is your friend. BFG again all out there, don't need the ships just proxy your own or use flyer bases

Found your page after seeing a review of yours on bgg for Core Space. I’d be interested in knowing which box set games you thing give you the most value in terms of what’s included as well as potential other games you could combine the components with, whether that be the minis or terrain etc… I’m looking for fun thematic games to play with my partner and casual gamers with low rules overhead. She in particular hasn’t been enjoying the abstract or dry euro type games we have been trying so moving on to other options now

Guildball used to do this including print and play team members but I see that despite the link for resources being there it now goes elsewhere

I think the Dreadball full rules are actually free these days, and that includes full team stats. That said, while I do appreciate the downloadable look&see, I'm not a huge fan of printing out game cards (as opposed to unit cards). Printing, cutting and sleeving them is a huge hassle. I'd rather just pay a reasonable fee for a real deck. Which is probably exactly what these companies are counting on.

The Drowned Earth is one other game free to play.

Mantic and OPR hiding some rules is so counter productive. Both companies would do better using their minis as their revenue source ... But then again, one month of OPR patron gives you the self updating rules on Drive thru rpg forever.

Yeah I dont understand it either. OPR is still fantastic value but it just didnt fit the criteria I set for being 100% free.

I bought one of the "full rules". I find that the advanced rules section is really just full of optional rules that are honestly nothing you couldn't think of yourself. Want to use Bolt Action style activation? Just go ahead and try it, you don't need to pay OPR for the idea. Plus they probably just copied the same optional rules across their rules family, so if you bought it fro Grimdark, adapting the same to Fantasy is easy.

@@BlackJackLegacy A conversion dream think orks or caous in 40k the model dose not exist , so you make your own. the rules are pretty simple and there is community support. I was looking for an excuse to start buying models and painting and converting again after years out of the hobby. Turnip 28 is goofy but not too goofy dark but not to dark and the range of models out there to convert into a army are endless . the root must grow!

I'm not 100% sure these rules are free now. The only place I could find them was on the creators Patreon page. Its a minimal cost but not entirely free.

@@BlackJackLegacy on the patron, scroll to the bottom of "About Max Fitzgerald". All the rules are there via links to google drive. You don't need to sign up. The Patron gives you discord access, and early access to beta rules, which are released for free after they are tested.
