WOAH officer 401 I didn't know you watched this guy XD XD
@cacoca797 жыл бұрын
maybe you cops would get more respect if you didnt harras random people driving, riding their bike or skateboard home or going to work just because you think your going to find drugs or weapons on them, so you can show you made x amount of contacts that day.
@freefieldtraining7 жыл бұрын
+cacoca79 I don't know about 401 but where I'm at we don't have a point system or quota for contacts or tickets. I do it for the love of the game.

and when you hear about an officer who stopped someone minding their own business no trffic violation no crime committed, searches them detains them for several minuets even though they are not looking for someone,then sends them on their way, you do what?

A lot of it changes based on the agency, state, etc. The easiest way to find out if there's one near you is to contact the department in your area. Most explorer programs are for ages 14-20,21. I've also seen programs similar to explorers(without the BoyScouts partnership) that go 11-18, or 11-21. As far as what it's like- that will change based on the agency as well. Some places allow the explorers to wear duty belts, be involved in trainings, and scenarios. Some just educate you, and allow you to work security at events. Some programs even have ranks, so that you can begin tuning your leadership skills. I highly suggest you try finding out if there's a program near you. I've been in the program for awhile, and I've never regretted it for one second.

Hey there free field training, I'm working on starting an explorer program in my small town but I have almost no police experience, my SRO is the supervisor but has been swamped so I'm trying to get everything done, I was wondering if you or anyone else reading this could give me some tips on training things for explorers and what an initial "boot camp" should consist of. Thank you all
@marktimemark20228 жыл бұрын
One thing you should try figuring out is whether duty belts will be allowed, or if equipment will be allowed at all. Also, try finding out if you will be providing services to the community(security at events, traffic control, those sort of things), or if it will be a more educational program. If equipment is allowed to be carried, definitely go over that during the beginning phases, and "boot camp". Physical Fitness tests is another good thing to go for. Best of luck to you in getting the program started, and I hope this helped!

Love the videos so far. not a fan of how most cops approach situations. you are making a very clearly un biased video about subjects. can't be mad about that. I realize this may be seen as attacking, I'm in full support. I actually like a police officer. heh. well there's one for the team.
@freefieldtraining7 жыл бұрын
+I am Negan Most people don't see how most cops approach anything. The reason viral videos are news is because what you see is unusual. When done properly, police work is rarely newsworthy.
@iamnegan80647 жыл бұрын
free field training I applaud that, I would take an offer at a dept. I don't criticize without having experience in the field at least as a volunteer. I believe I could make a difference, I want to help the people that want it and take down the habitual offenders etc. I'm in nothing more than my element training for security armed, un armed or police volunteer.

now i know why you're doing flashlight videos. this kind of info might be... regrettable in the wrong hands.
@freefieldtraining7 жыл бұрын
+skip davis nah, the flashlights are just a silly side project. I'm selective about what topics I put out. If I think it is an OPSEC issue I won't do it. Suspect management on domestics really isn't and their are far too many security people working housing complexes, and quite a few cops too, who don't know this stuff.
@cacoca797 жыл бұрын
see what i mean everyone, whenever you confront a cop with tough questions they deflect because they have something to hide. cops do not understand why people will use a parking lot or a cul de sac to make a u turn because you went the wrong way or are looking for a parking space, they dont understand forgetting your phone at a friends house late at night and turing around to go back, they dont understand dressing for cold weather, they dont understand when you drive around looking for an address you have never been to, to meet someone, they dont understand their are social biker clubs rather than the hells angels. everything i just mentioned is suspicious to them because they dont have the right training, yet they think they are helping us lol

do you always employ the good guy / bad guy technique. are there times the bad guy technique is counter productive in today's climate?
@freefieldtraining7 жыл бұрын
+Joseph Loya In today's climate? There is this perception that police work has categorically changed recently and that now cops have to be cowed and stop working because of politics. This is simply not true. Human nature has not changed. Speaking with people has not changed and the rules have not changed. Good guy / bad guy is not the only interview or interrogation tactic. It is however just as useful now as it was ten years ago.

@kennethbranson47112 жыл бұрын
9:40 + thats illegal search and seizure. You can only openly look in curtlige areas. You can't dig around in peoples houses like that. Not and get away with it. Lol and at what point did this go from a domestic to a dope house? This guy is assuming way too much shit. If its like that you need more than 2 officers. Good content overall i think. Let me amend this its good for officer safety yes. I agree. But don't expect that charge to stick on that kinda find outside plain view.

@@kennethbranson4711 That hasn't been my experience. Nothing that I'm talking about here is untested in court. Even if it were "subject to being tossed" in court, my job is not to make gun or drug cases it is to keep people from killing each other.
