A few weeks ago, I converted my bike to drop handlebars and used your videos for everything. Installing the R7020 levers, the hydraulic brake bleed, the shift cables, etc. Your videos are an incredible resource. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. All the effort you put into these videos, showing different vantage points and being really specific about everything is so appreciated. You have no idea how many videos I watched regarding the insertion of the shift cable where they didn't show how it went in like you did in this video. Mine was getting stuck on the shifter body plastic housing, and I thought that was good enough, but it wouldn't shift. Your videos saved me from hours of pain. Thanks again!

Great video. However my shifting is very hard (left shifter, front derailleur) it takes all my strength to shift it. I’ve replaced the cable twice and I’m totally baffled. Any tips? It’s fully integrated including handlebars.

Either the outer cable needs replacing or the front derailleur needs lubricating! Remove the chain and manually move the derailleur in and out by hand whilst lubricating all the pivot points!

@@FreeToCycle thanks for replying. I spent hours on it today, removed and cleaned it, lubed it and no improvement. I may just replace it, compared to my other bike (6800 groupset) the spring is so much stiffer. I’m worried I’ll break the shifter it’s so stiff

David it should'nt be that stiff are you sure the cable is runnig free inside the frame?

@@FreeToCycle it has a sheath internally, which hasn’t been changed, the cable feeds fine and only meets resistance at the bottom bracket area but once the cable emerges it seems to move in and out by the shifter ok. Only once connected to the derailleur it struggles to pull it.
