Marlon D'hoore Pull-ups I agree are better but if you think about it, the biceps are used for pull-ups so if you want to get stronger at those doing biceps curls are going to help.

Search up on youtube for the upper body strength work outs. What you want is chest, back, shoulders, arms (triceps, biceps), lats. As for the soccer players. You want to prevent injuries so as you can see a lot of core movement exercises were done by the french players. Barbarian squats. Quadriceps (Front squats), planks, abs work outs and so on for the lower body. They also do a lot of agility works such as ladders for speed and sprinting.
