Both canoe trips that were pretty tough but really fun. (algonquin 5 day solo canoe trip and killarney solo canoe trip) CHEERS! :) THANK YOU!

The French River is my favourite canoeing destination and I've visited it some 20 times since 1995. Last time, in June, 2023, we departed from Hartley Bay and stayed on Boom Island. Unfortunately, it was not a very good trip: the fire ban was in effect, occasionally smoke coming from the Quebec fires made breathing difficult, the sunny & scorching heat almost prevented us from being on the open water, at 9:00 pm we were attacked by swarms of mosquitoes and last, but not least, fishing was absolutely horrible-basically, no fish whatsoever! Nevertheless I still preferred spending my vacation on the French River than in the city!

I never heard of peameal bacon, but then I'm from Pennsylvania. Lancaster County - here, we eat scrapple with maple syrup.
@CamperChristina3 жыл бұрын
It’s just unsmoked back bacon made from boneless pork loin. It has a bunch of other names. You probably have a equivalent there of some sort? I hope you enjoyed the video. Cheers!

You originally said canoe trip Christina, Freudian slip? Does this mean Kevin has converted you to the canoe team? Nice trip! Happy Paddling!
@CamperChristina7 жыл бұрын
LOL, yes, I did. I had just done a canoe trip. Haha. My very first trips were actually all by canoe 16 years ago. Kevin likes to take credit for conversion but I have always done both kayak and canoe tripping. Just more kayak recently because I own 2 and don't own a canoe. Someone has recently lent me one to use for the season so I have been doing a few more trips. I am actually planning a big one for this coming weekend! Stay tuned! (hopefully, I survive! hahaha) Happy Paddling to you as well! thanks so much for watching and for commenting! :) Much appreciated!

A question for Christina or any owner of a Delta kayak (16'-17') I am awaiting delivery on a 17' Delta which recommends a paddler weight of 170-240lbs. I'm 175lbs-- bottom end of recommended weight. So if a woman is paddling a 16' the minimum weight is 140lbs. So if you are at the low end of recommended paddler weight how does this craft handle.
@CamperChristina3 жыл бұрын
I would check with delta. They have a great customer service team and any time I’ve contacted them I’ve gotten a reply. I hope you enjoyed the video. Cheers

How much does the kayak weigh and how are you portaging it? I'm really enjoying your videos! I paddle in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in Minnesota on the Canadian border.

Due to my concussion, I am unwilling to solo kayak at the moment. Have done so for 4 years, but I need to go out with someone to verify my skills since the accident.
