Usda defines a commercial farm as one that grosses over 250k annual. Although common definitions doesn't necessarily agree with this. But fyrreal good work all around gary.

they work the best on hardwoods (oak, maple, poplar etc.) I have supplemented with wheat bran which works well and now use soy hulls aka masters mix with good yields - hope that helps 👍🍄❤️

Great video man! I started growing mushrooms like 2 years ago in my garage but just now i kinda got the hang of it and bought a small warehouse to scale up and try to make a living of it, one of my main hurdles is because i live in argentina and a lot of mushroom related stuff is either impossible to find of very expensive to the point of not being viable, like mushroom grow bags that need to be imported so i i needed to develop my own DIY techiches. You talk about breeding to increase yield, I have experimented with this but in my country to my knowledge these isn't a lot of strain variety in gourmet mushrooms and it's been very hit or miss with the cultures i can get. How realistic do you think it is to get a better yielding strain from a single strains spores(basically inbreeding)? like without cross breeding strains which i find very hard to do and imposible to verify without proper equipment. Is it even worth it or is it necessary to crossbreed?

When you were experiencing contam, was it obvious with visible mold growth and no growth of mycelium or was it less obvious signs like slow growth/ low amount of fruits/ mutation etc?

Lots of trichoderma - green mold - once it takes over it’s impossible to get rid of so now I stopped doing tours of my lab and clean regularly - very particular about my cleaning 🧼 😄

Were just getting ready to plugin our 2 x 130 gallon, bubbas barrels. I got some cultures from you as well on etsy. Lost my flow hood for a while as well. Was it one of the $600 ones off amazon/ebay? I know the supplier to get the parts for them. I was going to order a part for backup as well.

It should be super easy to extract the bioluminescence genetic material from one mushroom species and input that into another. That would definitely produce an income. Lol if you use the idea, try to remember your dude here 😎
