You’re a great father. Nice operation. I’d like to do that some day. I live in New Mexico.

Great work, so inspiring to a newbie mycologist like me, been doing a little with local farmers markets and trying to get into restaurants, winter is coming here in Maine so I will have to move my operation out of the gurage into a warmer space, I find it hard to sell them consistently ATM but it's alot of fun no matter what ! Look forward to more videos.

Have you ever thought of freeze-drying the mushrooms so they have a long shelf life & can be sold online?
@FreshfromtheFarmFungi Жыл бұрын

In your lab, what are you / were you using as injection ports on the bags, or did they already come attached, like they do with unicorn bags?
@FreshfromtheFarmFungi8 күн бұрын
I use micropose injection ports and use them on the inside of the bag so they don’t fall off during colonization

Hi Gary, I was thinking about why you were using a regular hose to spray your blocks when I realised that there are fine nebuliser attachments to put on your regular garden hose. So I was thinking, like why do you use humidifiers at all? could one just install those hose nebulisers and maybe automate it with an Inkbird to replace a regular humidifier (ultrasonic in my case, which need replacement more often than I hoped)? it would make things so much simpler for everyone, instead of eg building those diy-tub-12vfan-fogger-UVc systems, especially if you're aiming at scaling up. Maybe that system has the plus of uv-c sterilisation, but it should only be necessary if you have water sitting in a container, right? But if you use your hose, it shouldnt't have any water sitting for longer than a few hours tops. What are your thoughts on it? Have you considered using a sprinkler system in your fruiting room?

this works really well for shiitake - I think there’s pros and cons to both methods and will do video on this at some point 👍 a lot of commercial growers use high pressure misting for all the reasons you stated - this was more of a supplement to fogging until they brown up like the one on the bottom I harvested

I'm new to mycology. I'm wondering what got you all into mycology? For me, it was cubes. I'm just being honest. It is much more than just a trip now.

Gary, what happened to that Air Science PCR hood! It's all cracked!
@FreshfromtheFarmFungi11 ай бұрын
It happened from putting too many warm bags against the plexy glass and then having them cool down made the cracks - I replaced it all for about $100 though Ill do a video soon
