Kane Hodder was NOT burned/harmed by the stunt he did at the end of Part 7. He was burned when he messed up a stunt for a news program back in the 70s (and didn't have a team to take care of him). He's talked about this at length. He was absolutely fine and safe with what he did in Part 7.

When they show the dead killer, you can see he had a latex bald mask on under the hockey mask that ripped open when impaled. His mask & Tommy's at the end are not the same as Jason's. The ending is cool. They will address this in the next movie.

I loved this movie. The screenplay was so genius. Loved the suspense it created alll through the movie
@dgaller06Ай бұрын
Well they would have addressed it in the next movie, if John Shepherd didn't walk away from the role of Tommy. However, him walking away from being Tommy again, did save the lives of the other two survivors of this film. They were both gonna die in Part 6. Those two characters got saved from being killed off because the actors playing them, Melanie Kinnaman, and Shavar Ross, were considered a package deal with John Shepherd, and thus were not hired back when John walked away from the role of Tommy in Part 6.
@TyphoonPlant4 ай бұрын
Part 7 is the best one. It’s also the first time, Kane Hodder, dones the mask as Jason and from then on. The term ‘Unstoppable Jason’ was coined, and Jason never looked so good, and menacing. Also ‘The New Blood’, has some pretty cool kills. Can’t wait till you guys do Part 7!
@ACNelson-officialchannel4 ай бұрын
The one thing that's often overlooked in this film is that the original "Jason" mask had red accents. The mask in this film had blue accents, which was a dead giveaway that it wasn't really Jason. I'm just waiting for part 6 now. Can't wait! Another wonderful reaction to this classic series by the beautiful Tara and Roxy!!!❤❤
@MAMoreno4 ай бұрын
Most notably, Jason's mask does have the red marks in Tommy's visions, so you can't just write it off as the standard subpar continuity of this franchise.
@ACNelson-officialchannel3 ай бұрын
@@MAMoreno I guess that I should've elaborated a bit more, but my point was that Jason wasn't the actual killer in this one, just a copycat. The hockey mask accents are what gave it away. That actually fits with the films continuity instead of going against it.

In Friday the 13th The Game, the Pinehurst map was originally captioned to be in 1986 but an eagle eyed fan(me) told the devs it doesn't match with Tommy's age so they moved it to 1989). 39:40 The actress who played Pam said she was very proud of her nipples in this movie. 47:56 Roy wore a rubber Jason head under the hockey mask.

@@jamesmorant1406That is part of the reason why I rewrote the script, so that Roy DOES kill Vic (offscreen, he is also a red herring to make the audience believe that he was the killer all along). I also have Tommy see a hallucination of Jason right before each kill, giving the impression that Tommy might be the killer. In the end it's still Roy, but I had him watching Joey from afar for years (lots of photos of Joey growing up in his wallet instead of just one of him taken the same year he died). Makes his mental break a little more believable.

@@Thundarr100 That would have been a lot better than what they did

@@jamesmorant1406 Yeah, but it would have required cutting back on the number of deaths shown. I cut out the two greasers at the beginning, Billy and Lana at the diner, and the homeless guy. This lead to cutting out the scene of the paramedics and police cleaning up the first crime scene, and the mayor's rant about how small towns are supposed to be safe and that Jason Voorhees is dead and cremated. This gives us more run time for devoting to the creation of suspense and character development. Unfortunately, the writers and director had to do what the studio executives told them. And the studio wanted a cheap jump scare or a kill (preferably a kill) once every five to seven minutes. I swear, you can practically set your watch by the pacing of the jump scares and kills in this movie. Which doesn't leave you with a lot of time to build suspense.

So you ladies liked that the movie has a higher body count, but you're disappointed that it wasn't as scary as the other movies. Well, im afraid that you can't have it both ways. Crafting a scary movie requires the development of tension and suspense. That takes time. If your entire run time is devoted to gory kills and cheap jump scares, like this one was, then you're not going to have the time to develop any suspense. Not without losing at least five death scenes and a couple of scenes of dialogue, which will be replaced with scenes of building tension and different dialogue (which provides character development).

A big thing you’ll notice with 1980’s horror (especially slasher series like Friday the 13th and Halloween) is they try to introduce multiple characters to make a higher body count and show off practical effects. It does tend to feel choppy and all over the place. Sadly a lot of footage gets cut since this was the 80’s and censorship was becoming very big by then so there are a lot of scenes where we don’t get to see the full thing because of those overly gory practical effects.

Tara calling out the sweater continuity was correct but she didn't notice that the girl had the sweater on when they went outside, lost it running into the trees, then had it back on when they made it to the cop car. once they ran away again she was wearing it and then it was off again. then it was back on. Tara only talked about the sweater after she noticed after they left the cop car scene.

@RoxyStriar Roy was wearing a mask under the hockey mask. That's why he was bald. You see the mask was split when they showed Roy's face on the spikes. You looked up the wrong Miguel Nunez Jr.

Part VI is the best. Probably my favourite ‘bad-good’ movie of them all.

The paramedic was bald because he went through the trouble of putting on prosthetics to hide his identity.

Miguel Nunez was in what is probably the best zombie movie ever made, THE RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD. That is a must watch for any of the Rejects, but I'd LOVVVVVVE to see you girls watch it!

I'm sure someones pointed it out by now but just incase, keep an eye on how the hockey mask changes through the movies. A lot of details carry over or intentionally change. You had the OG mask in the 3rd movie, then in part 4 the mask still has the axe chop that Chris gave him at the end of part 3, and in this movie it is a new intact mask with blue chevrons (the little triangles on the mask) instead of red. Hinting at this not being the same "Jason". There's fun little details like that on the mask throughout the movies. Also my favorite thing about this movie is the entire plot happens just because dude didn't want a candy bar lmao

Friday the 13th: A New Beginning opened on March 22, 1985, on 1,759 screens. The film debuted at number 1 on its opening weekend with a gross of $8,032,883, beating Porky's Revenge, Mask, Berry Gordy's The Last Dragon and the Disney dinosaur fantasy Baby: Secret of the Lost Legend.

The movie they're watching at 34:16 -- A Place In The Sun (1951) starring Elizabeth Taylor, and the Old Hollywood heart throb you see rowing is actually Montgomery Clift! The lady in the boat with him is Shelly Winters. Honestly, consider watching it, it's FANTASTIC. That they used that clip within Friday the 13th felt like a broad and meta homage (won't spoil it, but the scene def has suspense/thriller overtones, and the murky water/boat is a nice touch within a Jason Vorheese movie).
