Hi! I went to Thailand a few years ago for about a month. It wasn't a vacay but I still got some fun in. One thing I loved to do is to go for a walk everyday in the neighborhood where we were staying. I got to know it so well and would find little gems like a farmers market. There are food vendors on all the streets...even in little alleys sometimes. There is some compliant stuff...not much. But if you have access to a kitchen it is fun to buy vegetables, beans, grains etc that you've never seen before, look them up online and cook them. I did that so many times and had water spinach and garlic scapes and galangal and stuff I cannot remember the name of. Job's tears is a grain I tried and fell in love. So don't feel left out of the food experience. Oh my and the fruit. Passion fruit is cheap...eat enough for all of us. When I got home I found a lot of the produce here in the Asian markets. The long boat trip was nice. Also we took a water taxi to an island and they let us out on shore in the water....you walk to the beach. So many unexpected things. You will love your walks and will discover beautiful plants and trees...and oh yah...don't freak out if you see a huge lizard/dragon thing walking in the park. The people were so kind and I learned a few phrases so that I could make an effort to communicate. They seemed to appreciate while laughing a bit. So fun. If I can find my pics I'll post.

Hi Heather🙋♀️ I’m so excited for you and thank you for this motivational chat. Oh my goodness...the keyhole garden looks like a beautiful way to garden👍I don’t have them pleasure of gardening where I live but I now want to look into a community plot (thank you for sharing what you’re excited about)! I love that you’re daring to dream again❤️ I’ll be following your lead. I just started playing “pickelball” (I’m 68) and I’m loving that. I also bike 🚲 on a regular basis during nice weather (Jan was pretty nice here (MA) so I was able to get a few rides in🥳 but haven’t been able to since then). Thanks for the reminder that Spring isn’t that far away🌻 Thanks again for sharing what you’re excited about🤗 You are such a beautiful person. PS~I’m loving the Summit

Yes, I'm here in SC in our new little cottage & I'm working on all my raised beds in the cottage garden. I'm reusing all the rotted logs from the trees that had to be taken out, clearing in the woods, & humus from that in the bottoms of the beds, then a layer of sandy soil/red clay & then a couple inched of mushroom compost on top--hoping the plants will think it's yummy! So good to hear of your plans!

Hi Heather, it’s so wonderful seeing you back again! I too lost almost to my goal, then slowly gained it back, and am having much difficulty choosing to do it all again. I lost 185 total. I had to have bilateral knee replacements and I had put it off because of my back injuries from an old accident. Of course the extra wt did not help any! Just before the surgeries my doctor suggested I add some good carbs to my diet for aid in healing. The carbs were “good” alright, ha! I had lots of problems, especially back and nerve related for at least a year after the surgeries, and in way too much pain to add dieting to the agenda.Anyway, you’re not alone and you give us all so much encouragement!

Hi Heather just watched your video for me it is Saturday morning. I've been trying to lose weight again I had lost about a hundred pounds and then my ankle started hurting me again from a previous car accident. I'm doing the plant-based diet this time around before it was the keto the weight came back really fast and I'm very uncomfortable anyway I'm trying to eat mostly plant-based I love the vegetarian lifestyle because I love all kind of vegetables anyway the only thing I'm having a hard time with is it going to show love bread and crackers that's one of my downfalls trying everyday to make the right choices and not having the wrong things in the house but so tempting anyway I'm trying I'm so happy for you you are so real God bless you and everything that you do until next time

Heather you are so awesome! I wanted to comment last week but forgot but you are so right about consistency! Of course calories matter but weight fluctuates and you can do everything right and it still not 'show up' on the scale (which is why I don't weigh in anywhere near **that time of the month**). But if you stay consistent (even when the scale doesn't say what you want it to say), you will get closer to your goals.

I love your list!, I am a new minor gardener, signed up for summit, very slow to try to rid myself of the weight. Yo-yoed all my life and I am tired.

Hi, Heather, just stopping by. Like your hair today (I haven’t been here in awhile). I’m still at the “before starting” point where I haven’t weighed in yet. Riddled with confusion & shame, frankly. I think about you fondly always. Hoping to do better within a week. That’s my truthful thought.
@ziggy333993 жыл бұрын
Got the courage to weigh myself last night: 5’2” & 208 lbs. My husband is angry because this reflects badly on him. I’m reminded daily of my condition and told it’s all my fault. Insight: I didn’t “let myself go”... whatever caused this wasn’t because I’m lazy. I’m not a slacker in other areas. That said, I know I’m the one ☝🏼 who must rise...even when isolated a negative angry person who yells. I know it’s possible...why? All things are. I just don’t want to be the lost cause.

Is that keyhole garden a kit you can buy? If it is, can you tell me where you can buy it?

They do sell kits. I like this one: www.bestnest.com/bestnest/RTProduct.asp?SKU=VIG-VT17107&src=froogle&kw=VIG-VT17107&gclid=CjwKCAiA9vOABhBfEiwATCi7GHm2rYIP65JDzJ101COZaNvZVX0uaSTQLlx8qtTpTTlw6GQsKGwMvxoCVdcQAvD_BwE

Hi, do you take any medication for your rheumatoid arthritis? I hear that a plant base diet can keep R A under control without medication.
@emills7673 жыл бұрын
I'm curious, too, what she needs she takes, if anything. There isn't any scientific evidence diet can control (only anecdotal) it, tho. I have found diet helps, but meds are still needed
@thebutterflyeffect-plant-b30673 жыл бұрын
I no longer take anything except turmeric with black pepper and ginger and omega3 supplements for joint health and inflammation. My doctor is floored by how low my CRP is (that's awesome, the lower the better since it is a sign of inflammation) and how well I am doing off of all of the IV infusions I used to have. I am not giving anyone medical advice so please talk to your doctor before trying anything.
@jodeengibson27733 жыл бұрын
The Butterfly Effect- Plant-based Weight Loss thank you. I have RA I'm on methotrexate. I'm going to try a plant base diet. I hear that it's possible to go off the medication 🤞🏻I will talk with my doctor 👍🏻

@@thebutterflyeffect-plant-b3067 That's awesome. I still need MTX for sure and my Dr is not supportive of diet being an answer. (I've been vegan for 16 years, have had RA for around 2)

@@thebutterflyeffect-plant-b3067 If it's too personal please don't answer. What meds were you on and at what dose? Thanks.
