I seriously struggle with executive function and I hate meal planning. Nutrition and health are special interests for me, so I’m loving this helpful video

Thank you for making this video! I really struggle with making dinner and meal prep in general (working on ideas with my counselor right now). I would love more videos along this line especially cool summer meal ideas as I hate cooking in the summer and cereal just doesn't cut it sometimes. Videos dealing with executive function when it comes to chores would also be great. Also thank you for showing your kitchen as is, my kitchen gets way worse then that all the time, but it is refreshing to see someone showing their kitchen when it isn't perfectly pristine.

I will definitely take your suggestions to heart. I love food and providing inspiration to others. About my kitchen- I almost didn't film the video because it wasn't clean but it dawned on me that my kitchen is almost never clean. Presenting a spotless kitchen would be inauthentic and if my mission is to encourage others to find peace in their truth, I have to be honest and share real life. 💕

@@neurodivergentme I definitely appreciate you being authentic! And honestly I wouldn't classify your kitchen as dirty just normal. It frustrates me and makes me feel bad about myself when people aren't real about what how they live. Not that there isn't people that keep their kitchens perfectly spotless, as my BIL is definitely one of those. Just not as typical as most people present it.

Great video! While some autistic people like to eat the same simple foods, I am on the opposite side of the sensory spectrum and like to try lots of new flavorful foods! The only issue is the executive functioning and sensory aspects of the food prep make it challenging. I am still trying to find a meal prep system that works for me. This gives me good ideas! :)

I'm definitely sensory seeking when it comes to food! I'd like to make another video in the future catering more to those who prefer simple flavors. As for executive function... I feel it! I try my best to do this kind of thing every week but it doesn't happen every a week lol. Hopefully some of these suggestions work for you 🌻

Thank you. This helped a bit with my burnout on meal planning. It was all good until I developed 8 food allergies. Now I just don't understand how to have a healthy diet again. But that casserole, I can eat that with substitutions. Woo! A new recipe. I wouldn't be sad to see an occasional video in the weeks that you do meal prep showing us what recipes you've found to use/make. But I also understand that isn't entirely why you made the channel. :)

I'm really glad you enjoyed the video and found some food inspiration in it! This video got a pretty positive response and is inspiring me to create more food related videos.

Thank you for the recipe and links. I’m Autistic, as are two of my children and I’m REALLY struggling for variety and ideas for them to try to cook/taste. Oooo have you thought of a cookery/recipe book for Autistic children?

I have thought about creating a series here to discuss ways for encouraging autistic children (and adults) to expand their safe foods and offer recipes. I would love to create a cookbook at some point!

I see so many orzo recipes but have absolutely no idea where to find it! I suppose I could just substitute in rice but its not the same 😢 I'm definitely sensory seeking too, apart from avocado and tomato (and mushrooms but only sometimes). I love making food with a lot of spices and flavour, it's so fun!

You should be able to get orzo from most supermarkets. For me it's hidden on the top or bottom shelf near pasta. Otherwise, you may be able to find a "dried fruit and nuts" store, they tend to sell some of the more eccentric grains.

It tends to be hidden in the pasta aisle. You can also probably find it online. I typed it into amazon and a bunch of options popped up. Its delicious so I hope you can find it and make something yummy!
