You absolutely made a wonderful dinner and desert for your family. It's a blessing to have delicious homemade food made from scratch--not to mention the love and care put into it. Your fried pies are very much like the ones my mother used to make. Thanks for sharing.

Seeing all the flour on u and floor reminds me when I was young like 8 or 9 and my grandmother taught me how to make biscuits. She said it was the only time she would teach me because by the time I finished I had flour all over me, floor and from one end of table to other end. Such wonderful memories. I maybe cook supper 5 times a year. My husband grills every night lol. I have such a wonderful husband

I have found that a lot of times our mistakes are good blessings. Thank you for sharing this. And a good tip on that little gadget. I happen to have one. Never thought of using the opposite side to cut and measure the dough though. So thank you. Gods' Blessings.

I'm new, watching from Louisiana. I just love your vlog. It helps to see that someone else does things in steps like you did. Sometimes I just get tired and have to sit down before I can finish cooking over the stove. Thankfully I have a patient husband. Thank you for including your mistake and how you fixed it, too. I cook about 3 or 4 times a week for us. We have leftovers some, too. Sometimes we will have a "breakfast supper." It's all good. God bless.

omg! I have never had a fried pie! When I saw how they puff up, you have me sold!!! I have to try this recipe! I love cherry and need to try that filling too...Lemon curd would be to die for too... I have been putting up apple filling...I have a crank apple peeler. It is a really nice tool. Not too expensive and not hard to use. I live in WA state on with my dad on small 40 acre farm...I get so tired it is hard for me to cook everyday...if I don't have a dinner planned ahead, I am in trouble...trying to get better at it...I am 61 now...had to move down here when my mom died...been here 10 years now.

Girl finally someone who gets a little messy when cooking. I'm a Chef and Baker of Comfort/Soul food and it just irritates me when people on KZbin literally cook and it's like they're not cooking for "real". I've never met one soul who made some REALLY good biscuit, pie, etc using flour and not get flour on them. I sure do. 😂💖

I absolutely LOVE you ! I've been doing a keto diet and let me tell you something .... I just had hip surgery two weeks?ago and my fiance has me eating frozen T.V. dinners ONLY because he works so late and I can't stand for long yet . So we've had to simplify things for him so he's not panicking about cooking and he's snuck TOAST back into breakfasts and baked beans and OHHH MY GOD , keto is NOT SATIFIYING AT ALL ! I'll be going back on it as soon as I can though cause it helps my weight stay stable right now .... However ..... We enjoy a SPRLURGE DAY where keto takes a HIKE for a day , so I've saved this video and I'll be treating my sweet man to these and I can't wait ! They look delicious and you are a JOY to watch and listen to ! Keep up the great job and GOD BLESS ❤🙏

Somedays idont have the energy, i moved they threw out my favorit pots pans gagets and i feel lost with out them an a one bedroom apt cant hold a farmhouse full of cabnets full of your favorit pan to make this in or you need that pot for this to turn out right. An you cant just throw it to gether you have to marrier it together in steps to get that perfect flavor taste, texture and touch! Does that make sense? And lost my husband 6yrs ago and the house is empty! Its hard to cook for one now!

Some people have apple peeler that can peel apples, potatoes etc.when clamped down on the counter for people like us that have hand, wrist etc.,problems, I thank my step sister said that she brought hers from pampered chef in the late 90s and she said that it was a favorite of hers,I would have gotten one for myself but financially that's an impossibility for and at the time being. My mom did all her's by hand and it was very painful, time consuming thing that she did for her family ,but wish she could have had easier life(long story)she suffered over 45 years of her 65 years of life, but I think my mom was one of the best, many memories of her cooking for her family we had large family and both of parents did as well, so seeing this video brought back memories of my mom in the kitchen. Mom was always making everything from scratch, she would make homemade rolls as well as biscuits etc.when she made biscuits some of the times she'd make amount of biscuits needed and then she would use the left over dough to make little hand pies and sometimes she would put prune filled, sweet potato filled etc.I wish I could recall what she used also in making the filling but she was from the depression and in our family you never wasted anything, and she was trying to get into her family thing's that we needed but being children did not care for,(example prunes)but her taking the left over prunes and turning into the filling for her hand pies we enjoyed as special treat.I just found this video and subscribed, hopefully one day I can try to make me some, thanks for the memories and don't worry about showing people all the cooking bloopers, no one is perfect and everyone needs to learn how to fix all kinds of mistakes in life. Some of the best cooks learn from trial and error, and sometimes what we feel is our worst turns out to be some of the best, etc.I was watching whipperwill holler and collard valley cooks when I spotted your pies and had to check it out, moss family does chocolate torches they call the pies and peach, strawberry, blackberry, blueberries etc.they are all delicious. Thanks for sharing your videos and bringing back childhood memories, can make wonderful meat filled pies, give those a try you can use variety of meats as well as other things to add, up to your taste buds and your imagination. Have a blessed day and month ahead as well, stay well and safe out there. 🙏🐥💝🐻🙏

Hello, I just found your channel and you do yours about the same way I do. I was watching you peel and core your apples and wondered if you've ever made Apple Peel Jelly. You cook the peelings and cores down and make freezer jelly with them - waste not, want not - it is so good - especially on buttered biscuits. I've been making it for years. You can make jelly this way with any fruit that has to be peeled - apples, peaches, plums, etc. - even pineapples.
