I love this show. Really captured the feeling of being a kid. It’s so creative and imaginative, the characters are fun and they somehow can do emotional wholesome and warm feelings in one show. Also they do representation right, they don’t make the representation the main part of the show, they just have the characters like characters with personality’s instead of token characters.

It makes me so happy that don’t have “black” characters but characters who just happen to be black. It’s about time media portrays POC as just regular people. This show is great 💕
@Kram10322 жыл бұрын
And not just that, it has a cast of POC that's very diverse and increasingly so. I like to say that, if you aren't represented by CotC, it's because you aren't represented by the show *yet.* - Given enough opportunities, they will eventually have direct representation of just about anybody. And really solid such rep, even if it's just for a single episode. (Given enough time it's likely more)

That's how I felt on watching Into the Spiderverse in the same way. To clarify I mean the movie was different from the typical spiderman movie plot. Peter get bitten by spider, becomes superhero, etc. This at least shook up the formula with "What if someone else became spiderman?" and the movie went on with showing the different spider...people(?) and the movie was like Miles not becoming a webslinger like Parker but his own hero, outside of that daunting shadow and mentored on that journey. Man I look forward to the sequel. Anyway sorry for that longwinded tangent but yeah I agree.
@トーキ-g8v2 жыл бұрын

I saw this cartoon years ago and it has become one of my favourite series. It is so relatable, like a better version of what Clarence was, a kid doing things you maybe did when you were one. I love the casual diversity in the show. There really aren't any moments that point out that a character has a certain skin color or has a certain sexuality (I know there's more to do with that aspect in season 4 but I'm sure they handle it well). Its just.. there. I remember there was one episode where the Stump Kids were trying to catch a ferret, so they made a puppet that looked like a really girly ferret. But then J.P. said something like, "Well what if this ferret likes boy ferrets?" And Kelsey just says, "Oh yeah good point," and they just make another one. It's so casual and I love how this show handles everything

I am so happy I gave this show a chance. It is a truly undiscovered gem that I wish more people knew about. This show caters a lot to childhood fun and nostalgia. Growing up my favorite show was ed Edd n eddy, I loved the shenanigans and scams the 3 Edds pulled In the neighborhood and later on we see growth in some of the characters as the seasons change. It's funny because the show started out as a goofy kids show. I started to rewatch ed Edd n eddy as an adult and just enjoy it much more. It's the same thing with craig of the creek. In the beginning we just focused on playtime, but in later seasons it tackled interesting topics like growing up and how hard it is to make friends.

One of the major things I love about this show watching it as an adult is that I can clearly see that it's a show made by my generation (all the references to our childhood classics) but it cares so deeply about it's young audience too, what in terms of all the representation and the care that goes into those portrayals. In an age where media thrives on generational divide, it's so refreshing to see stories that are less "Hey, our childhoods were better" but rather, "Hey, look at all these ways our childhoods have been similar." It's just a wholesome show, man. That's always been the main word I've used to describe it.

I actually have a story with Craig of the creek, I remember one day I was in depressive episode, I was feeling numb and overwhelmed, it was 1am and I couldn’t sleep, my one was just fluttering with these thoughts, and I was struggling with feelings of hopelessness, so I decided to turn the tv to distract my mind, and that’s when I saw Craig of the creek, it was an episode where Craig and his brother had to make pumpkin pie, and idk why but for a moment I was able to forget my shitty day, my feelings of hopelessness, and just enjoy this show, and every time I had just cried or felt emotionally exhausted I would turn the tv and this show would start playing. So yeah over the years this has become my comfort series. I think it’s so wholesome, and it makes me reminisce of my childhood ❤

From Adventure Time to Steven U, even Amazing World of Gumball, they recognize that their audience isn’t just limited to kids. Craig of the Creek speaks to the 1st gen of Cartoon Network kids (late 20’s-30’s) and the reference and jokes are top tier. Especially the culturally relevant content; not only do they nail Black culture, but I’ve also been introduced to new ones too like Indian and Filipino. Excited for where this show goes.

What I get from Craig of the Creek is a fusion between KND and Ed, Edd, N' Eddy. With just enough watering down it goes from fantastical and silly to generally believable and endearing. It also has the variety of cast that any clade can understand it and enjoy this innocent, and imaginative romp of kids being kids. With just enough adult themes and references that a younger adult can appreciate it too. Edit with a ps: said before I watched this so I can reflect on my opinion after hearing this mans

craig of the creek is truly an incredible show that people are really sleeping on. i've been watching it since the pilot aired. it's really just got so much love put into it and the adventures the kids go on are not only fun to watch but genuinely inspired. i love when the show blurs the lines on what is dreamed up or exaggerated by the creek kids and what is actually happening. of course pretty much everything they do is a bit beyond what many consider, uh, plausible? but i mean those moments where the characters themselves aren't sure. like the doorway to helen, the haunted dollhouse, whatever is going on with the witch girls in general, and many more. the show is so grounded and yet so imaginative. it's gotten such a perfect blend and nearly every episode is pure joy and a treasure to watch.

It's getting a fifth season and movie and a spin off. It's 40 episode per season, so we got 60 episode left that's not bad.

So far I haven’t encountered any concrete proof that it’s gonna end soon. All I noticed is news about a 5th season, a movie and a spin-off. Where’d you get the info of it ending soon from?

I’m 19 and I’ve been born and raised in Columbia, Maryland. And not much happens on that end. It’s pretty boring. But I remember as a kid me and my friends would come home from school and group up and just run around the neighborhood. We played in this giant ditch in our neighborhood, and the patch of land in the middle of our culdesac we called the island. Craig of the creek gives me a glimpse of what my childhood could’ve been like if we had a creek like that near our neighborhood. This show also has such good rep. Wether that’s poc rep, with their showcase of many different cultures, or that’s lgbt rep, with all their queer characters. Craig of the creek is a show I needed when I was growing up. To help guide my younger self in the direction of play how you want, be who you are, be kind, and let yourself enjoy being a kid. As a kid i was in so much of a rush to grow up faster than I needed too I never was allowed to truly be a kid and have fun. Watching Craig of the creek gives yoh a warm fuzzy feeling and reminds you of those days after school where you dropped your backpack off grabbed a snack and went right outside

Whenever people would tell me that nowadays cartoons aren't as good as they used to be, this is the first show I recommend, it's so wholesome and has such a good message and good vibe

What i love about the show is how nostalgic it is. Whether you're a teen or adult, when you see the show you'll feel like a kid again.

I also recently discovered this show via HBO Max, and it's an instant favorite. And watching it, some characters looked familiar, and it clicked once I heard them. Ben Levin and Matt Burnett got their start here on KZbin, from what I can tell. In one of my favorite shorts from years ago (when animation was still viable on this platform, THANKS ALGORITHM!) IM IN UR MANGER KILLING UR SAVIOR, the elders of the creek are those same characters and I love it since it fits their characters so well from the short, as well as the short series they did, Ronin Dojo Community College DX. Look up For Tax Reasons and Doris & Mary-Anne Are Breaking Out Of Prison here on KZbin for some of their earlier works.

this is the one and only time I'm going to say this, I live in Virginia, pretty close to Maryland, right? anyways, this show hits close to home because not only did I always have friends to play with, but Craig of the Creek captures the child's imagination so well. I don't even know why but doing so many of these childish tasks seemed like such an adventure to me. maybe it was because I was an outdoor kid, maybe not. but something about this show just lets the nostalgia waves flow through. this show just speaks so much to me. anyways, thanks for coming to my ted talk, see you next time.

This show is just absolute perfection. It ticks every box for a good show and then some. And as for the relateability aspect of it, the show manages to invoke nostalgia even in me, a kid who grew up in dusty deserty las vegas with barely any bodies of water in sight lol. It feels like home even if the stuff thats in it seem foreign and like something I've never even seen before. Like deja vu but even more familiar. Like I'm sure we've all had a friend like JP, and I'm sure we've all had annoying experiences with older siblings, or if youre the oldest or an only child maybe a cousin or something. We've all had those teenagers or older people that as kids we just thought were the coolest people ever We've all had to deal with our first crushes, with finding out our interests, etc. This show is just the most perfect thing ever and I'm glad I found it.

I had to keep this video on hold because I was catching up with the series, but now I’m here and I’m glad to listen to your perspective. Although this video had too many moments from the Capture the flag saga and not enough Slide the Ferret ones

I really love how the characters aren’t written as the color of their skin or their history, but instead they are written as characters (also Jessica NEEDS a spin off show)

The representation is top off! I almost cried when I found out Sewer Queen was Filipino. I can't relate about her being an immigrant but IT WAS JUST SO TOP OFF WITH THE ulam in ice cream containers, tortang talong (even though I hate it) and SINIGANGHRKEJHSHDOWOWO

While you see it as a cross between Hey Arnold! and Rugrats, I see it as a modern day version of the Disney cartoon Recess.

Craig of the Creek is fantastic. It reminds me so much of my Early Childhood Days, we're a lot of kids were basically doing the exact same thing they were doing. Having fun their own way in the creek. Probably does help that this cartoon is set in the same state as my childhood I love this show because it immediately captures the imagination that kids have of that age. Where they want to be something or do something, that kid will do everything in their power to do so making it even a part of their identity
